People still argue for bigger blocks in 2026 as if they didn’t learn anything from the past If Bitcoin had scaled to 8MB blocks in 2017 with current relative utilization, the chain would be at 2.88 TB today Instead we settled for the signal at 720 GB 8MB blocks are a direct attack on sovereignty, forced bloat for no gain The math is clear, do the work or stay lost

Huge milestone for Cashu. After 3 years of work, we finally have unruggable mints. I'm testing the first on-chain Cashu mint running inside a Trusted Execution Environment (TEE), where the mint keys are generated entirely within the enclave and remain unknown to the operator. That means the operator cannot inflate the ecash supply and cannot access the Bitcoin reserves backing it. We've moved from trusting operators to relying on hardware-enforced cryptographic guarantees. There's still work to do, but the path forward is clear. This is an incredibly exciting step toward trust-minimized ecash.

@callebtc I have Proton VPN, but I also heavily rely on Tailscale for things like node connections. Switching between them all the time is annoying, so out of laziness, Tailscale is connected most of the time.

Gothic Game
Gothic Game@gothicthegame·
For us the most important thing is that people can play on launch date and time. To achieve that we sent out copies earlier. Gothic 1 Remake will need a download of around 5 GB on launch day and will then be fully playable offline - NO permanent internet connection is needed.
Does it play?@DoesItPlay1

Cancel your pre-orders! Gothic Remake is unplayable offline. THQ is withholding this info from customers! No proper marking on the package. No notice on the store page. This was discovered through a copy of the game that was sent early by the official THQ Store.

@glxyresearch he tail is the hard part. Migrating exposed P2PK and reused P2PKH coins is not the same task as protecting the largest value clusters. Blockspace makes that difference visible.

@theinstagibbs Dust is not a fixed number. At 50 sats per vbyte, about a quarter of the UTXO set is already economically dust. Policy tools matter because fee rates move the spendable boundary.

Small/solo mining is no longer just folklore. Over the last 3 years, small & solo-labeled pools have become visibly measurable in block history — still tiny versus industrial pools, but not zero. The fun part is variance: lottery wins make great tweets; full-month block share keeps it honest.

And the exposed set is not evenly distributed. 50% of exposed BTC sits in ~14k UTXOs. 80% in ~56k. 90% in ~153k. 95% in ~452k. So mitigation does not start with “everyone moves at once.” A prioritized migration of high-value exposed UTXOs removes most of the systemic risk first.

The quantum debate doesn’t need to be “Bitcoin is doomed” vs “nothing to see here.” The first measurable question is simpler: How much BTC currently sits in outputs where the public key is already exposed? That is the actual risk surface before arguing about freezes, migrations, or timelines.

This is so fucking embarrassing. Bitcoin is a 1.6T USD asset. While the entire world is sending their best experts in cryptography and quantum physicists to debate the dangers of quantum computers, we're forced to listen to a purified influencer pleb slop gobbledygook. These people sound like they're at the verge of psychosis. I'd rather listen to a new age hippie high on DMT and it would make more sense than this.
Simply Bitcoin@SimplyBitcoin

Jeff Booth, Jack Klucznik and Nicholas Marino perfectly explain how a Quantum threat to Bitcoin is "nonsense." "Bitcoin is the answer. Bitcoin is physics."

@_checkonchain @_Checkmatey_ This is the clean on-chain check against the derivatives/manipulation narrative. I bucketed every 2024+ spend by coin age and priced it on the spend day: 5y+ coins moved since Jan ’24: • ~1.49M BTC • ~$123B notional Moved ≠ sold — but the footprint is real.

A major feature of the 2025-26 Bitcoin bear market was the scale of long-dormant supply returning to circulation. Across 2024 and 2025, more than 1.3M BTC held for 5+ years were revived onchain, representing over $110B in rotated capital. Historically, this type of behaviour tends to cluster around major cycle transitions, as experienced holders distribute supply into strong market demand. The chart below shows just how large that wave of revived supply became throughout the cycle. If you want to understand how this Bitcoin bear market actually unfolded beneath the surface, download The Bitcoin Checkpoint → tinyurl.com/bitcoin-checkp…
