@damccormick13 this is so absurd I'm in. we built a way to transact with fiat credit systems to onramp as payments to usdc and spend that from your wallet bankless on visa and wire rails.

I asked the following questions at meet-ups in Kenya and Nigeria: Who gets paid in crypto? -> 80% of people raised their hand Who gets paid in local currency? -> 5% of people raised their hand Who prefers crypto (btc, eth, et al) over stable coins? -> 2-5 people raised their hand Who prefers stable coins (USDT, not USDC) over crypto assets? -> 95% of people raised their hands Who is using binance p2p market place? -> everyone raised this hands Conclusion: Locals want access to US dollars and the crypto rails provide a very convenient / easy path to access it.

In case anyone has forgotten just how ridiculous bank accounts and payment processing companies can be when you trust them to hold your money. Self custody is the only way, take back control of your own funds.

@GrapheneOS I wish we could help because PayPal is the worst, but we can't get you credit card donations without a fee. We can settle your credit card payments in usdc, give you a defi wallet that would never get closed with spend capabilities for that usdc, via ach and visa card offramps.

PayPal has restored our non-profit GrapheneOS Foundation account. We should be able to withdraw all donations made through it in the past few weeks. We received no info on why our account was permanently banned with funds held for 180 days or why they now restored our account.

When our rails are totally integrated into the wallet, our fees will be low, speed fast, and you have self custody to do what you want and when you want. Why is it so hard to make a product that's up front and customer centric.

1) Story time. Trying to get btc to someone as a payment today. Why is onramping such a pita when it really should be simple fast and convenient?

All these had stupid inflated exchange rates for onramp, and moving back to cash took an exchange rate drop that was even more ridiculous. Plus the fees.

5) Crypto .com now, can buy no problem. Send immediately? NOT A CHANCE. FU try again.

4) What, PayPal does it? Even though PP sucks (see below), bought it no problem. Try to send? Errors galore, cannot complete send. CS says lol keep trying. FU try again.

3) Tried a normal coinbase account (personal). Moved money on and bought it. NOPE can't send it anywhere for 10 days. FU try again.

2) Tried to buy it on coinbase prime. NOPE wrapped btc only. FU try again.

API rails are done! Docu will be another couple days, but we're ready to start providing API access to integrate our USD Card to USDC rails anywhere you need it. I feel like this is a filet mignon after a shit sandwich of Prime Trust issues.

There are other platforms but they are not back yet because prime trust was their partner and they are yet to find another partner

Literally everyone employed by them is out of a job with no notice and probably of the attitude that PT can go pound sand.

Story time. Trying to use PayPal to get funds to a dev. Can't reconnect our bank account, errors galore. Fees up the colon for just a credit card pull. Settlement in fuckall knows. The stuff we are building solves all this crap, why are we all ok with this as is.

So far, we have credit payments to usdc through a storefront ui, a defi wallet to store that usdc, a direct usdc payment request system that's based on @farcaster_xyz name, and Visa spend rail to offramp that USDC using a card, and a USDC to ACH out for direct USD payments.
