If there isn’t revenue, employees can’t stick around. Everyone in a leadership position is responsible for everyone beneath them. The game director is responsible for leading his people to success and it’s on him when they fail. It is the CFO’s job to track the company’s financials and report those numbers and projected outcomes to those that need to know. This is a very standard situation and hearing this guy bitching like he’s some poor guy with too much RESPONSIBILITY just tells me he never should have been given the reigns in the first place. Leadership is heavy, money is just math, and employees are business expenses that do, in fact, have to justify their paychecks with generated revenue.

The biggest issue facing Modern Gaming is the absolutely unhinged, sociopathic corporate leadership who see video games not as entertainment or a form of art, but as a guaranteed ROI. They will destroy thousands of careers if their work doesn't generate maximum revenue.

Yes, companies offset ALL costs of doing business. They offset having employees, manufacturing, R&D, that’s what prices are. Run a business some day, you’ll see that offsetting the cost a foreign government decides to randomly and arbitrarily impose on you is the obvious choice, then you’ll also see red when it’s found to be ILLEGAL, you’ll want all your money back. The ONLY action yhat reasonably can be used to judge Nintendo is if the tariffs are actually lifted is that they return their prices back to before. And even then, the market has shown to still buy at that new price, so is it actually bad business to not keep those prices? Hard to say.

Holy shit this was painful to read. This isn’t how money works dude. Nintendo paid money they were illegally charged. That’s one entire scenario that happened. Then in an entirely separate instance of action, they raised prices to re-meet their profit margins after losing margin to costs of business. This is how business works. The only one you should be mad at is the US government that created this situation unnecessarily. Especially by applying a type of tax that has such indirect application that allows entirely legal and proper ramifications where the average US citizen has the ultimate bill but has no means of rencompense or refund available because they DIDN’T actually pay the tax. They paid the importer companies or other companies down the chain. Money is a fungible value store, so the exact transaction matters, not the chain of custody. So, the AI is correct and your vengeance upon Nintendo via torturing the AI’s answers is wholly misplaced. This is also why no one in the modern world uses tariffs outside very specific and exact circumstances and to often very small amounts.
