@niccruzpatane Two things I always want a mechanical backup for are brakes and steering. I have zero faith that this is the future.

Mercedes-Benz is introducing steer-by-wire steering technology as an option in its refreshed EQS sedan. Traditional mechanical linkage between the steering wheel and front wheels is replaced by electronic sensors and actuators. This allows for: • Quicker variable steering ratio • 170 degrees lock-to-lock • 4-wheel steering (up to 10 degrees in the rear) • Smaller yoke steering wheel • Much tighter turning radius Cybertruck proved steer-by-wire is the future. Many more companies will start to integrate it.

@dogegnome @messedupcars Electric cars are not really that heavy if done right. Look at the Tesla model 3 for example. It's 1,8 tons which is the same as a Volvo V60 Petrol/Diesel.

Add on top of that hours needed to put it all back together. ICE is more expensive and less reliable. face it.
