Hot this holiday weekend in Seattle. At least the first 2/3 of it. The numbers represent Seattle, but temps on the east side and south sound could reach 90 today. Sunday is slightly cooler, but a big push of marine air Monday cools us back into the low 70s for Labor Day.

Here are Saturdays rain totals up to 11:59pm. I think what’s more eye opening is that the numbers below, with one exception, represent total August rainfall so far.

Definitely a #WeatherWarnDay around here…but most of the action will be tonight. It will be hot and humid today, with thunder, heavy rain, and hail tonight. This unstable air arrives from the south early this evening and will work its way north through the night.

Couple of big changes in western Washington today! A push of cool air from the coast, and a low dropping down from Canada will give us some of the coolest temps we’ve seen in weeks today. And with all that air movement, a lot of the smoke will disappear by this evening.

Coastal clouds move into the Seattle area and keep things a little cooler Saturday, but what a gorgeous weekend overall for Seafair’s big weekend.

Wildfire smoke will continue to move eastward through the day today, thanks to some wind blowing in off the coast. Tomorrow’s showers will clean the air.

Seattle area weather: We begin with plenty of sunshine to go around. Morning clouds on Sunday cool us off 5-6 degrees, then prepare for showers on Monday.
