I went to the Senate floor to lay out for my colleagues the stunning story of brazen, open corruption during the first 6 weeks of the Trump presidency. I think it's a story everyone needs to know. 1/ So a🧵with the highlights from the speech.

Trump team now making direct contact with Zelensky opponents in Ukraine; Trump warning ordinary Gazans they will be wiped out (or ethnically cleansed); on top of tariffs on countries historically considered allies, claims on friendly territories like 🇨🇦 🇩🇰 and #vileVance whacking 🇬🇧 🇫🇷 military. But Trump yet to make a single criticism or demand of Putin. It is hard to see how long anyone can go on pretending that he is a reliable ally, or indeed any kind of ally. I get why @Keir_Starmer and others have to say the words. But the reality is chilling. Macron speech last night excellent. Merz saying the right things ahead of taking office. Starmer been vg. Europe really has to get its act together fast. And we are part of Europe. As is Ukraine.

Holy cow! Elon Musk’s Grok AI literally thinks Trump is a Russia asset. “I estimate a 75-85% likelihood Trump is a Putin-compromised asset, leaning toward the higher end due to the consistency of his behavior and the depth of historical ties.” — Grok x.com/i/grok/share/W…

War Diary Day 1091 Donald Trump to Ukraine: “You should never have started it.” This is Russia’s big lie. The mind of the President of the USA has been captured by an enemy, Vladimir Putin. #VPDFO! #DTDFO!

This was what LFC did in the second half at home to Wolves. Plus a blatant dive, and 2 red cards dodged.

Dictators in History: - Hitler – “The good of the state stands above the law.” - Mussolini – “Everything within the state, nothing outside the state, nothing against the state.” - Napoleon Bonaparte – “I am the revolution.” - Francisco Franco – “I am responsible only to God and to history.” Trump: "He who saves his country does not violate any law"

Much of our prosperity in the UK is owed to people in rural sheds who designed and made things. We’re good at it. Whats odd here is not that the govt have legislated against Lister, Ginetta, Caterham etc. They appear more to have forgotten they exist. 😳

If you want to know the truth about Elon Musk, British journalist Ian Hislop nails him. I refuse to entertain anyone's delusions about Elon Musk that he cares about or is working to help anyone other than himself.

Chris Hope, GB News, "Why don't you order a national inquiry to join the dots between the 50 towns?" "Are you concerned it might expose failings of your role as director of public prosecutions? And that's why Elon Musk says you were complicit in the rape of Britain" Keir Starmer, "You were covering crime for The Telegraph when I was director of public prosecutions, you were quizzing me at the time, for the entire five years" "You looked at my record as I was doing the job. You have access to all of the material" "Unlike some Tory politicians, I'm not tweeting about it or talking about it, I got on with changing the system" "The victims suffered terrible abuse, sickening, unspeakable abuse, and then they weren't listened to, that has to be taken seriously. That's why I made the changes that I did in criminal justice" "On the question on another review, there have been a lot of reviews.. This doesn't need more consultation.. It just needs action" "Why didn't the last government, the Conservatives, implement the Alexis Jay Inquiry Report requirements?" "For ten years we've had reviews, did the Conservatives act? No - They're now tweeting and talking about what they think should have been done"

Thanks @British_Airways it will now be impossible for me to retain my Gold membership status and it’s highly unlikely I will even retain Silver. There’s now no need for me to keep loyal to the brand, EasyJet will now benefit from my 8+ holidays pa

@AlexBrundle The team behind it have totally thrown away any brand equity. There is a total lack of respect of what it stands for. It makes no sense at all… Tata would have been better placed to launch a new brand name if this is their approach. I feel sad for a once great British brand

Jag rebrand - is strange because. The actual delivery has merit if considered in isolation. If a new car company was launched in that way we’d be like - ok ‘out there’ but interesting let’s see. What I’m struggling against (and I would say this because I race them flat out) is it appears to lack a self-recognition of the previous brand’s immense respect and value. Whether it was and Austin Powers ‘Shaguar’ or a Top Gear JAAAAAG. The leaping cat, at least subconsciously communicated a net positive sentiment. It’s brave to depart those shores so completely.
