PART TWO 🗞️ Gas, Blood and Silence in Mozambique 🇲🇿 In the spring of 2021, insurgent groups attacked the town of Palma, neighbouring #Mozambique LNG. The attack caused more than 1,400 victims. And here, @TotalEnergies is being accused of serious negligence. A judicial investigation has just been opened in France 🇫🇷 against Total for #manslaughter and failure to assist a person in danger. But that is not all....In this context, Total financed a Mozambican armed force to protect its gas site and suspended its project in April 2021. According to revelations by @politico, for three months in the summer of 2021, these soldiers allegedly sequestered, asphyxiated, deprived of water, starved, tortured and murdered dozens of civilian men.
