We're being threatened because we pointed out that their official NDIS business page advertises NDIS funded Quran classes alongside videos showing off luxury Mercedes sports cars. For overseas readers, the NDIS is a government funded program meant to support severely disabled Australians. Religious instruction is obviously not supposed to be covered by the NDIS. The program has been systematically defrauded in recent years to the tune of probably more than $10 billion. In our opinion this is just one small example of the scheme being systematically abused. So we pay $20,800 a year extra for the exact same house. - The house would have sold for $700,000 in 2020. It’s now worth $1.3 million despite no material changes to the house. - You could have bought the house for a 10% deposit of $70,000 back in 2020 and paid $2,500 a month in mortgage repayments. - Now you need to save $130,000 to make a 10% deposit and need to pay $7,015 a month in mortgage repayments. - Current rent is $3,600 a month. The mortgage would be $7,015 a month. It is literally cheaper to rent forever than to take on 30 years of debt to own the same property. - When I tried to rent this property I had to first apply for 70 different places and was rejected from almost every single one. I would line up for a house inspection with hundreds of other people, most of whom arrived in the country extremely recently. - Australia has the second highest dwelling construction rate in the OECD. I won't be missing the ABC now they're on strike - in fact I would defund them. Keep the services like radio in the regions that do a good job and make the capital city bureaus a subscription only service. We also need to get serious about the fuel crisis. The government needs to declare an emergency: force supplies to the regions, stop the price gouging and cut the fuel excise.
