We are evolving into a new species. Catch the wave into this spectacular new era. What you can do: 1. Remap your identity to be evolving and exploring the new frontiers of being human. 2. Join the Don’t Die Network State (coming soon). We are at war with death and its causes; building towards an infinite horizon; and fighting for the freedom to exist as long as one chooses. 3. Build your Autonomous Self. Create personal and community systems, habits and norms that promote vitality and enable us to improve at the speed of technology. Make health default. 4. Play Don’t Die.  DD is currently the most played game by every human on this planet, every second of every day. More than capitalism or any religion. For example, we breathe every few seconds, look before crossing the street and have smoke alarms in our homes. Not dying is our omnipresent zeroth priority. 5. Build Don’t Die endeavors. Be a model of personal health. Play a role in ensuring planetary climate stability, aligning AI with DD, replacing war with new non-violent dispute resolution, and pursuing other DD vectors of your choosing. 6. Know that detractors and haters are defending ideas and possibilities from the 20th century and before. How I got here Through a thought experiment. I imagined being present in the 25th century, listening to their observations about the early 21st century. That’s us, right now. What do they observe we did that allowed intelligence to thrive in this part of the galaxy? They say “in spite of their primitive nature, early 21st century humans were wise enough to realize that on the eve of creating super intelligence, their zeroth order focus became aligning intelligence around not dying. They rebuilt society around this objective and gave birth to a Cambrian explosion of new intelligent life and potential.” It takes a minute to wrap your head around the idea that society and reality will be remade, likely outside of what we can imagine in the coming decade(s). That’s because our beliefs and life assumptions often hide beneath our awareness. We’ve forgotten that we ever learned or accepted them. They just exist. If you want to play a fun game and try to excavate your primary beliefs about existence, here is a thought experiment for you: If you had access to an algorithm that could give you the best mental, physical, and spiritual health of your life, but in exchange for that access you ate what it determined and slept when it suggested. Would you say yes or no? In private conversational settings, I’ve posed this question to hundreds of people and intently listened to their answers and observations. The pattern of responses are predictable.  A few will say “yes, anything to save me from myself”. Others will say “yes but I want to change a few things” (lol, that’s a no) and most will say “wtf, is this a cult?!”. The third group feels so deeply offended by the thought experiment that they try to bury the idea with the first words that come to their mind. Personally, I said yes to this. In fact, I’ve spent the past three years building an algorithm that is better at taking care of me than I can myself. It’s allowed me to achieve the best mental, physical, spiritual and emotional health of my life. Now instead of feeling depressed and tired and foggy of mind, I have clarity of thought and exuberance for life. Full of hope and optimism for the opportunity to build the most extraordinary existence in our corner of the galaxy. My starting place wasn’t pretty. I used to overeat, skip workout days, and was sleep deprived and chronically depressed.  I’d do all sorts of self destructive things I promised myself I wouldn’t do. I felt powerless to stop these behaviors even though I knew they caused me harm, increased my speed of aging, and lessened my life. Now, I don’t do any self-destructive behaviors (for the first time in my life) because I built an algorithm using data and science that takes better care of me than I can myself. I’ve built Autonomous Bryan Johnson. My algorithm tells me when to go to bed. What to eat. What therapies to start and stop. It’s getting better every day, unlike my former self who constantly fought and lost the same battles. Many people are currently at where I was; in a pretty bad place. Sadly and unfortunately, modern society has created the conditions for widespread dismal cognitive and physical health. Most are chronically sleep deprived. Maximally stressed. Our food is dirty and bad for us. Self destructive behaviors are cultural norms passed off as the good life. We treat earth like we treat our bodies. Things are not ok right now. Even still, you’re going to tell me that an algorithm making decisions for you is worse.  Fear not. It usually takes around 2.5 hours of group conversation to wrap your head around these new ideas. But you can get there and dig out from the initial fear response. The idea of automating sacred functions such as deciding what to eat, when to eat and when to go to bed, challenge everything early 21st century humans understand about existence. Even more than you can identify right now. But, the benefits of automation are all around us. Automating is what we’ve been doing for millenia. Our ancestors used to spend the majority of their time finding food and securing shelter.  Now we touch a screen and food magically shows up to our home. Understanding these ideas is easier if you zoom out and understand some larger context. We live in an age of automation: self-driving cars, manufacturing, software engineering, robotics, finance, agriculture, and logistics to name a few. Our health, wellness and abilities are next. Why automation? "Civilization advances by extending the number of important operations which we can perform without thinking of them.” - Whitehead. For decades we’ve been improving technology at breakneck speeds while the human condition has largely remained unchanged. Technological advancements are now enabling us to focus on Human Improvement: HI + AI. Can we get $7 trillion please to end death and evolve ourselves into superhumans exploring the frontiers of what’s inside and out. We are moving beyond our primitive 20th century self destructive selves and into a new era or prosperity beyond our ability to imagine.

I’m on the market for a new car in 2024 Autopilot feels like a must have. Funny how it turned from a fun/cool/experimental feature to something that feels makes long driving experience game -changing. Makes me less excited about any non-Tesla vehicle Also TIL cybertruck has shipped with cruise control but doesn’t have Autopilot yet (though I assume it’s a matter of time). But no dates yet. Hmm…
