Finishing 9th, with Charlotte 10th, gives Miami a home game in the 9-10 game with Hornets, but it would slightly lessen Heat's remote odds of top-4 pick and drop Heat lottery pick by 1 spot if both teams miss playoffs and if Heat doesn't get lucky and land top 4 pick.

If Heat loses in Toronto again Thursday, Miami can still move to 9 and drop Hornets to 10 with Heat wins against Washington and Atlanta and Hornets losses at home to Detroit and at Knicks --- provided Orlando doesn't finish with same record as Miami/Charlotte. Jumping No. 8 Orlando now unrealistic. Moving past Nov. 7 Philadelphia not likely, either, because 76ers close with Pacers and Bucks.
