MEDIA ALERT Drummer Scot Coogan issues a statement on the passing of ACE FREHLEY Los Angeles, CA (April 1, 2026) - Scot Coogan, Ace’s longest-running solo-band drummer and lead vocalist since 2006, has issued the following statement regarding his recent public silence and his intentions moving forward: “I have remained silent intentionally to give my crew, management, and most importantly Ace’s family the time and respect they deserve to grieve without noise, speculation, or opportunism. I personally feel it is far too soon to perform Ace’s music, and I have absolutely no interest in profiting from his name, likeness, or legacy. Working with Ace since 2006 was one of the greatest honors of my life. We shared the stage on countless tours and collaborated on multiple recordings, but our connection went much deeper than music. Ace walked my wife down the aisle and stood beside me as my best man. He wasn’t just someone I worked with - he was family. And because he was family, I will always protect and honor his legacy. Any money that comes to me connected to Ace’s name, music, or likeness will be donated to an animal charity in his honor. In the meantime, I've continued working & recording in Los Angeles, performing with my Led Zeppelin tribute project, and focusing on building my own music and identity. When the time comes to honor Ace’s contributions to rock and roll, it will not be rushed, and it will not be exploited. Accidentally deleted this earlier, so here it is again. Let’s clear something up real quick. I saw Bruce Springsteen in Munich while I was stationed in Germany. I originally said 1984, and after checking, the correct date was June 1985, which still falls exactly within the time I was there. So yes, I was there, and yes, I saw him. Now let’s address the overreaction. Getting a date wrong from over 40 years ago does not make someone a liar or “delusional.” It means they’re human. If you’re acting like you’ve never mixed up a date, you’re either lying or fooling yourself. What should have been a simple correction turned into people playing “internet detective” over one small detail, like that proves anything. It doesn’t. If the goal was accuracy, all it would have taken was: “Are you sure about that date? I think it was 1985.” That’s it. That’s all. Instead, some of you went straight to insults and assumptions. One year off, forty years later, and this is the hill you chose. I just love keyboard warriors who think they know everything about a person’s life that they’ve never even met. Let me make something very clear. You don’t control me, you don’t control my experiences, and you don’t get to rewrite my life because of a date or to fit your delusional narrative. I was there. I lived it. I saw him. If you can’t handle that without acting like a child, move along. But hey, if that’s all you’ve got, that says enough.

I wanted so much for President Trump to put America First. That’s what I believed he would do. All I heard from his speech tonight was WAR WAR WAR. Nothing to lower the cost of living for Americans.
