A brother said to Abba Serapion, 'Give me a word.' The old man said to him, 'What shall I say to you? You have taken the living of the widows and orphans and put it on your shelves.' For he saw them full of books.

"It is much better to lament the insensitivity of the unjust than to hate them; for even should they deserve our hatred, it is senseless for a soul that loves God to be disturbed by hatred, since when hatred is present in the soul, spiritual knowledge is paralyzed." St. Diadochos

This clown has never read a single ecclesiastical writer from the ante-Nicene or Nicene period. For authors such as Justin Martyr, Athenagoras of Athens, Tatian the Syrian, Theophilus of Antioch, Irenaeus of Lyons, Tertullian of Carthage, Clement of Alexandria, Origen of Alexandria, Lactantius, Eusebius of Caesarea and many, many others, indeed almost all of them, the existence of the Nephilim was an indisputable historical fact.
Nick M@m966021

@hneros13818 He believes the Nephilim and giants were real and that magicians actually cast spells in the OT. Automatically all credibility is gone.

@Michaeldudufudu Was married 20 years, lost my wife to cancer. She was amazing and we had a Godly marriage. Now I leave the future to God, because I would not dream of being in another relationship with a woman that was not Orthodox. I'd rather die alone.

@noetic_healing It was a final power move citing an ENTIRE Psalm then using the same word for "finished" as was used at the end of creation. Any other teaching is likely heresy or borderline heresy.

The Orthodox pray through the psalms. The monastics pray/read the entire psalms every week. It would not be uncommon for a Saint in crisis or persecution to be praying a psalm or reciting the Jesus prayer. The Protestant view is that Jesus was receiving the full wrath of God, abandoned by the Father in this judicial exchange. However, it is more likely that this was the final teaching of scripture as Jesus was crying out the psalm that spoke of Him and was doing so both as a manner of prayer in persecution to give us and example of how to die as Christians, and so that the disciples would have one more key to give them hope that all would be well. God is love. He wasn’t turning His back.
Fr. Barnabas Powell@FrBarnabas

When you hear someone say that the Father turned His back on His Son on the Cross, refer them to this article and ask them to stop slandering the Father. "My God, My God, Why Have You Forsaken Me?" open.substack.com/pub/fredericam…

@Orthodixie One thing I really did not understand. He asked his priest how to have a closer relationship with God and was told to pray...and then he treated this as if it was bad advice, when it is literally the best possible advice you can give anyone.
