In August 2021, when I was on a short visit with my ancestors, Tom visited me. I was in Bunyore. How did I know he was there. Mama had a book he wrote down the visitors who came to see me. When I returned from those lands of forgotten people mama gave the book and I called everyone to share my gratitude. Tom then returned in Dec, we sat outside my mother’s hut and we laughed hard. He made a joke in kinyore that I should not attempt to leave without notice… I told him never. We laughed a lot, shared meals, shared uji, omwosi, hard jokes… ey Tom mwana! Today, I’ve learnt of his passing with a heavy heart and a tightness I can’t quite shake. Such a sudden, cruel, and inhumane loss. I’m gutted. Tom, you did not deserve this. Anyway, fuesi khuli khuluchendo! Rest in peace, my brother Counsel Tom Ouya Imbukwa. May justice find those responsible. @DCI_Kenya @NPSOfficial_KE we need answers!!!!
