@uOttawaNMR Thanks, Glenn! I caught Amy Fruend here at SERMACS, and I think she's going to help me out. Will let you know.

@FitzkeeLab I’m willing to talk offline but don’t know how much help I can be since I have been retired for almost 4 years and no longer have access to a spectrometer or software.

@uOttawaNMR You wouldn't still happen to have that hoesy dataset would you? I've been having the darnedest time getting a hoesy to work. Super low signal to noise. Having a working parameter set would be invaluable to me.

@uOttawaNMR Did you ever make the software available? Looks like it could be useful, though it may not work with TS4.

@de_lab Oh my, yes. The default behavior is so weirdly inconvenient.

@Popher Does this approach risk shortening the life of the amplifier because of the reflected power? The optimum tuning profile looks pretty far off.

@Popher @nmr900 Update: It seems to work. You need to modify the pulse program to include "SWITO" statements, and sometimes this involves adjusting delays to maintain phasing. Decoupling during acquisition is harmful to the SNR.

@Popher @nmr900 I'm trying. I modified one of them to add the QNP switch commands. I think it's working, but I'm getting lower signal than expected. By default, those programs are not written for the QNP accessory, and it looks like they expect separate amplifiers for H and F.

Is there any reason why a Bruker QNP accessory couldn't be used to collect phase-sensitive gradient experiments (e.g. a 19F{1H} HOESY on a 1H/BBF probe)? "hoesyfhqfqnrv" is okay, I'd like to clean up artifacts, and that program is limited to QF mode. @nmr900 #NMR

NMR thermometers, especially with heavy spin-½s like ¹⁰³Rh or ²⁰⁷Pb, are a fantastic way of measuring temperature with high precision (expense is another debate though)… nuclear spins never let you down!

Starting today, thanks to @NSF, MSU is now recycling nearly all of the helium in its #NMR facility. It's been a crazy week, but Bryan from @BlueFors_Ltd got us up and running. @nmr900

So, what would be on your list? What promises do you want to make to yourself? Use John Wooden's list as a spark, but create your own. Write them out and look at them at the start of every day. Enjoy this? Share the thread and follow me @SahilBloom for more in future!

John Wooden was a treasure trove of wisdom. My favorite piece of Wooden wisdom: 9 promises for a life well-lived. These 9 promises create the foundation for happiness and success:

A couple of days late, but congratulations to Dr. Dhanush Amarasekara for successfully defending his dissertation entitled "Engineering Functionalized Nanomaterials for Targeting and Ablating Biofilms."
