The fact that coding agents struggle hard to write usable, maintainable software proves how mind bending the process of software engineering is.

🚨How do you index the entire Linux kernel (28M lines of code) for an AI agent in 3 minutes? You stop letting the agent read files one by one. There is a fascinating new open-source release called codebase-memory-mcp. It's a code intelligence engine that swaps traditional file-searching for high-speed AST knowledge graphs. What makes this project stand out is the research behind it. Evaluated across 31 real-world repositories (detailed in arXiv:2603.27277), the architectural shift yields massive efficiency gains: → 99% reduction in tokens for structural queries → 83% answer quality across complex tasks → 2.1x fewer tool calls required It maps functions, classes, HTTP routes, and cross-service links into a graph. When the agent needs context, it queries the graph directly. Security is prioritized too: everything happens 100% locally on your machine via a single static binary. It runs entirely locally. No Docker, no Ollama, no API keys. You download the binary, restart your agent, and it just works. Are we one good index away from cutting AI dev costs to zero? Paper and Repo links in the thread ↓

🔗:github.com/Lum1104/Unders…

@CooperZurad Software is broken in its inception. There cannot be a software without bugs which are also potential features.

can anyone ELI5 why software needs to be "maintained"? Like why do you need whole teams working on stuff that already works? Hardware doesn't work like this If it functions, it functions and does not need to be changed unless you're replacing something worn out.

I heard the reason why Amazon reported on Fable to the government is because Fable was unable to fix how bad AWS's UI is.

Your tax system is Scandinavian, industrial infra Nigerian, bureaucracy British-German, real estate prices like NYC, electricity unreliable like Brazil, justice system like Eastern Europe, traffic like Thailand and you want the private sector to innovate in digital sovereignty. At least provide good infrastructure and tax relief like ITES companies had!

Silica increased hair thickness by 12.8% in 9 months. The placebo group saw zero change. 10mg a day. Double-blind, placebo-controlled. Hair got measurably thicker and stronger. The placebo group — nothing. The second most abundant element on earth — and almost nobody gets enough of it. 85% of soils are now depleted. That means your food barely contains it anymore. And your hair, skin, and nails are paying for it. Silica drives collagen synthesis, strengthens keratin, increases skin elasticity, and supports nutrient delivery to hair follicles. Your hair isn’t thinning because of genetics. It’s thinning because of a mineral you’ve never thought about. My favorite sources: - Nettle tea — one of the richest plant sources - Orthosilicic acid (ch-OSA) — the form used in clinical trials - Fiji Water — 85-93mg of natural silica per liter

if i ran a restaurant in san francisco, i’d raise prices to psychotic levels. $49 caesar salad. $32 fries. $24 sparkling water. then i’d offer steep discounts based entirely on where you work. teacher? discount. nurse? discount. city employee? discount. barista? discount. artist? discount. openai, anthropic, meta, or google? zero discount, full price. surge pricing based on pure economics. is this illegal?
