Rare to see something this sharp and well articulated on the timeline. Must read.

Muslim feminism is actually the most effective de-Islamization project in history, and it doesn’t even know it. The mechanism is crystal clear Classical Islam has a coherent internal logic. Fiqh, aqida, akhlaq they’re a system. Pull one thread and the whole architecture shifts. The why behind gender differentiation in Islamic law isn’t arbitrary patriarch. it’s connected to a specific anthropology, a specific theory of the nafs, a specific understanding of fitrah, and ultimately to tawhid itself. The rulings aren’t floating policy decisions you can swap out like furniture. So when Muslim feminists go after inheritance law, guardianship, testimony, they think they’re renovating the house but in reality they’re removing the foundation. Because once you establish that the methodology for deriving those rulings was wrong, that the Companions misunderstood, that the classical fuqaha were just products of their patriarchal culture, that we need a “gender-conscious hermeneutic” you’ve destroyed the epistemology. You’ve told every Muslim that 1400 years of scholarly consensus is just vibes, and that your feelings about fairness, calibrated by a 21st century NGO education, are a valid override mechanism. And once that’s established, once the principle is “we reread texts through the lens of contemporary moral intuitions” there is no limiting principle. Why stop at gender? Riba? Hudud? The theological status of non-Muslims? Every ruling is now subject to the same “recontextualization.” You’ve handed secular liberalism a master key to the entire deen. This is why Western governments and foundations fund this stuff enthusiastically. Not because they care about Muslim women, look at their silence on Gaza, on French hijab bans, on Uyghur women being sterilized. They fund it because a Islam that validates itself through liberal frameworks is an Islam that can be perpetually managed, perpetually reformed, perpetually softened until it’s a aesthetic identity with no civilizational content. A Islam that produces good secular citizens and nothing else. Muslim feminism is the Trojan horse and the feminists are the ones pulling it inside the gates sincerely, with full conviction, which makes it more dangerous, not less. The Muslim world stopped producing frameworks and started importing them. Muslim feminism is just one symptom of that deeper collapse.

Whenever someone honestly shares stories like this, the world becomes a slightly better place
Danny Postma@dannypostma

Hey Twitter. Been a while. Thanks to everyone who's reached out to check in, I haven't died, promise Just wanted to share where I've been the last 5 months. It started in November. Some personal stuff came up that meant I couldn't share what I was working on anymore and honestly sharing was the whole reason I enjoyed Twitter. The building in public, the conversations, meeting people. Without that, it kind of took the fun out of it for me. Then January came around, and the world kind of lost its mind. I was doomscrolling 5+ hours a day, cranky and angry, short with the people around me. And what really got me was that even when I wasn't on the app, I was still scrolling, just in my head. My wife mentioned Id been off lately, "what are you even doing?", and that's when it hit me: this is a vicious circle. I needed to stop. So I quit cold turkey. Decided it was basically an addiction, and it wasn't giving me anything back. 5 months in honestly it's been one of the best things I've done for myself in years. Not spending 5 hours a day on the app feels amazing. In the mornings especially, Twitter used to dictate what I'd think about all day. Whatever was trending, that's where my head went. I didn't even realize it was happening. Without it, you remember how much is actually going on in real life. You don't have to be scrolling. You can just be there, with your wife, your dog, your friends. Read a book. Read an actual news site. Sit with your own thoughts. That last part has been the biggest one. When your mind has space again, you start *thinking*. About your life. About decisions you've been putting off. I've been head-down running the company for years, always managing, always growing, and suddenly I had room to ask: am I doing what I want to be doing? That alone made the whole thing worth it. Some things that have changed: - Made some dramatic work changes - Working on side projects again - Enjoying coding for fun - Less stressed, way less reactive - My relationships with everyone are better - Been working out, eating healthier, and lost 7kg - Got married - Just happier I've opened the app a few times since. Scrolled for a bit. And honestly, it just doesn't bring me joy anymore. But I do miss things. I miss sharing what I'm building. I miss the people, the conversations, the small connections that come from posting and replying. That's the part I haven't found anywhere else. I'll come back one day, in some form. Probably something custom, a way to share what I'm working on and interact with people without seeing the feed. For now I'm just enjoying being off the grid. If you want to chat, send me an email or a message, Id love that. Thanks for checking in 🙏

You are your own worst enemy. You waste precious time dreaming of the future instead of engaging in the present. Since nothing seems urgent to you, you are only half involved in what you do. The only way to change is through action and outside pressure.

Search is full of ads and wrong answers. Every other email is an ad. Prime Video charges you and shows ads. Paramount? Ads. Peacock? YouTube? Hulu? Ads followed by more ads. Netflix full of ads. Meta and X, every other thing is an ad. Pinterest is nothing but ads. AI is in everything. AI finishes sentences incorrectly and won’t stop. AI reads your email and search history to target you with more ads. Every time you open an app or visit a site there’s an update making it worse. In a hurry? First, click here to agree to terms you don’t have time to read and must accept. You need an account to do that. Change your temporary password. Enter your 2FA code. Check your email and enter that code. Now use a passkey. Your password is too simple to remember. Change it. No, not like that. Now log on. Enter your 2FA code. Check your email for a code… Welcome back! We’ve updated our terms of service and privacy policy (you have none). Subscribe to the site. Subscribe to Netflix. Subscribe to toilet paper. Subscribe to these groceries. Pay a membership fee for the right to subscribe then tip your driver who delivers the subscriptions your membership lets you subscribe to. Time to work? We’ve got to update your laptop and will slow down everything you do until you agree to update. But first, click here to agree. Update installed — your laptop’s broken now. It doesn’t matter, since your boss just replaced you with AI. Go to your phone to complain on social media. Wait, your phone needs an update so we can add more AI. Click here. Oh sorry, your phone can’t handle this update. Now it’s useless. Go get the newest phone. Here’s a text from a friend, an email, a voice mail they left three days ago but you didn’t see until now because of sync problems with the cloud. It’s their GoFundMe. Their MLM. Their Patreon. Never mind, you didn’t respond to their text within 9 minutes and now you’re no longer friends. They blocked you. Make new friends. Download this app to find people in your area. In your neighborhood. On your street. Two doors down from you. Do you know this person yet, we think you’d get along. You need an account to use this app. That username is taken. Enter a password. Not that one, you used it on another site. You need to be connected to WiFi to download the app. Allow the app to connect to other devices on your network. Allow the app to access your contacts, know your precise location, store your credit card details. Oops, sorry, we got hacked now all that info is available on the web. There’s a class action suit. You can join. It’ll take a decade to get your $3.73 share of the ten billion settlement. We’ll send it via PayPal or deposit it to your bank, just tell us those details. Oh no, another hack. That info is circulating now, too. Here’s a spam call, a spam email, a spam text. Why are you angry? Why are you talking about getting rid of your phone? Why don’t you like AI, it lets us make all of this easier? Do you know how ridiculous that sounds? This is progress. You’ll be left behind. Do you want to be left behind? Do you???
