Almost everything RFK Jr says here is wrong. Reyes’s Syndrome is related to aspirin use particularly after a viral illness, but in children, not in pregnant women. High dose aspirin isn’t recommended during pregnancy because it can cause premature closure of the ductus arteriosis. Low dose aspirin can be used during pregnancy. Ibuprofen is not used during pregnancy because of concerns about harming the fetal kidneys. Acetaminophen is considered safe for use during pregnancy. James Van Der Beek passed away from colorectal cancer this week. As a GI oncologist who runs a young onset program for people diagnosed before age 50, I wish more people knew this: No person is “too young” or “too healthy appearing” to have cancer.

You took a crushing and life-altering loss then used your own grief, resources, diligence, courage, creativity, and persistence to transform an entire community. Thank you, Ms. Shirley Raines. Thank you to your son you lost, for allowing us to borrow you on this journey. And what an exquisite journey you made it. We know you struggled with your own loss and setbacks, but the way you remodeled your energy was magnificent, maternal, and endless. You may have lost your most precious soul, but you helped nurture countless souls that didn't even know they needed you, specifically. You brought a bubbly smile, signature style, and energy that helped make people remember to live and be present. Your joy, passion, and purpose to serve love & empathy is what made you a human firework... Colorful, bold, special, bright, and took up the space with light wherever you landed to glow. Thank you, Ms. Shirley Raines. My prayer and deepest manifestation for your effervescent & boundless soul, is that your son received you. I hope that however you transitioned, you felt the peace, comfort, and joy you brought thousands of people in tenfold. I hope that everything you've worked diligently for, will be continued in the manner & quality of life you breathed into it. May your next journey be filled with rest, abundance, pure light, and the comfort of your son. We didn't have you long enough, but for the time that we were blessed to have you? My heart is broken. I can’t believe it’s been confirmed that Ms.Shirley has passed away. I’ve been following her for years, in awe of the work she did for the homeless community in LA and then Nevada. We have lost a true activist and icon.

The university cancelled classes for everyone except for the med students. There were third years in even before I was. I’m sorry but med students are not essential employees, they shouldn’t have to risk coming in. Hell they even cancelled classes for the school of nursing 💀
