Small point: the restriction of the policy to elite international sport is because the IOC only covers elite international sport. They are not saying 'fairness doesn't matter at grass roots.'

The women's category of Olympic sports will be limited to biological females from 2028, says the International Olympic Committee. Eligibility will be determined by a "once in a lifetime" sex test, which would prevent transgender women and those with differences in sexual development (DSD) from competing.
