@DerryBanShee @EHRC I'm 56. For a job application, under EA, can you ask and record sex data (GDPR)? No. In an interview, under EA, can you ask and record sex data (GDPR)? No. In an interview, under EA, can you ask and record any protected characteristic data (GDPR)? No. Why not?

The @EHRC code (section 13) says that a service provider may ask a person’s sex and exclude them from a service or space for the other sex, and also that a person’s sex is special category data and that “it is unlikely to be either practical or appropriate to approach any particular individual to make enquiries about their sex in relation to facilities, such as toilets, which are incidental to the primary service.” The first part is legally correct. The second part is just made up. It cannot stand.
Maya Forstater@MForstater

We have written to Bridget Phillipson to say that it is ultra vires and irrational for the EHRC and the govt to have added the section on "asking about sex" which wrongly claims sex is likely to be "special category data" to the Equality Act guidance at the last minute.

The heart of this argument is "it's just easier to ask women not to have boundaries than to ask men to behave decently". That should never be the standard by which laws are made.
Malcolm Gate@MalcolGate

The ruling on the interpretation of biological sex in the Equality Act by the Supreme Court is 'bad law' ie. it will fail to achieve its 'intended purpose' and cause 'unintentional harm' both to trans people and to cis men and women if/when it is enforced. Chaos will ensue. #EHRC

Hey, @elonmusk@KDansky's account has been mass reported by trans activists. She’s locked & suspended. Please look into this and help her get her account back. Terven, one of our fearless leaders needs us. Please help Kara and spread this post far & wide!

@TheLamb93 @EHRC Justin, you seem to be confusing sex with sexual orientation, or perhaps you are confusing UK law with something entirely different. Perhaps just leave this to the grown-ups.

Nonsense. Of course an employer can ask and record sex. They do so routinely. With your name, address and date of birth. Totally routine. Also, we all have eyes. But anyway this code of practice isn’t for employers. It’s for service providers, public functions and associations.

@DerryBanShee @EHRC What is GDPR for? Oh yes, recorded data. If you ask someone their sex are you going to record it? Remember, when it comes to employment you can't question or record sex and that information is voluntarily given for statistical purposes.

@dilanesper “Enforcement problems” = men and boys will break the rules. That’s no reason to replace a fair rule with an unfair one.

Regarding Tom Steyer's position on trans athletes: I think he's right on the merits. ELITE sports need to be sex segregated. But people make up reasons to claim that competitive fairness of youth sports is super-important and it isn't. Plus, there's enforcement problems.

And there’s more… “Despite being panned by critics and unprecedented low viewing figures (30,000 viewers for its second episode on BBC3), the BBC has recommissioned Smoggie Queens — a comedy about drag queens who live together in Middlesbrough — for a second series.” ~ @ripx4nutmeg gazettelive.co.uk/whats-on/whats…

Yet even as the BBC stares into the ratings abyss its reaction is to waste more tax payers' money and double down. Coming soon: The Dickie Show — a chat show in which a drag queen interviews celebrities (trial episodes on You Tube netted only 5000 views):

14/ If new Director General Matt Brittin is genuinely serious about restoring trust, credibility and integrity to the BBC, he must urgently recalibrate its moral compass if the 104-year-old institution is to survive. Top of the list must be jettisoning the obsession with drag queens and ending the subversive LGBTQ+ ideological capture — especially the indoctrination now rife in children’s and “family-friendly” programming like EastEnders and Doctor Who.

The logical conclusion of @Guto_Harri ‘s story is that non-conforming men can use men’s facilities. It is about humanity as he says - that women are fully human and deserve dignity, peace of mind and safety. It IS also about rights, because women need the law to back up our humanity and to legitimise single-sex provision as entirely reasonable. If men respected women’s boundaries, we wouldn’t need to insist on legal protections.

Follow the logic. Women are deluded and naive for thinking predatory and violent men can be kept out of women-only spaces. ‘They can rape you anywhere.’ However, trans-identified men can only be safe in women-only spaces, because no abuser would ever follow them in there.
