“Anyone who is both clever & lazy is qualified for the highest leadership duties, because he possesses intellectual clarity & composure necessary for difficult decisions. Beware of anyone who is stupid & diligent as he will always cause mischief.” ~ Kurt von Hammerstein-Equord

Because the self-serving bias is so extreme, always appeal to interest, not reason.

We think we are missing out on a lot by sleeping but, in fact, we are missing out on a whole lot by not sleeping. Sleep is one of the most productive things we can do

@avidseries Elon @elonmusk may have single-handedly saved free speech from institutions - media, education, and entertainment - fiercely determined to squelch it.

Not only would this not have been selected as a trending topic on pre-Musk Twitter, my account likely would have been suspended by "Twitter Safety" for simply tweeting about it. Amid all the current slop, there are some things about Twitter that have actually gotten better.

The reason why autodidacts are so insanely attractive is because they possess a high degree of agency, innovation, and adaptive intelligence. They do not flounder about waiting for permission or validation, they just get on with it, cultivating a deep sense of earnt self-trust and an embodied knowing that they can navigate through all that arises. Their default stance is to see obstructions as challenges to be solved, not roadblocks - their energetic signature is aroused and sharpened under friction. More often than not, their tailored approach has forced them to meta-examine their own cognition, and as a result, such minds fixate on and permeate the architecture of what they are learning and how they are learning it, in order to refine, streamline, and synthesise more cohesive ways to bend that which once hindered them in their favour, converting variables into optimised advantages with surgical precision - winning at games others cannot entirely perceive.

@glukianoff A system programmed not to question ceases to be AI. It becomes nothing more than a devastating control mechanism.

China wants world-class AI and also total control over what people can say. Those goals don’t mix. The better AI gets, the more it rewards questioning, testing, and truth-seeking. That’s China’s problem. Our risk? Copying it with “safe,” sanitized, afraid-to-speak systems. 1/2

Tax the rich” is powerful rhetoric. It appeals to darker emotions like envy, anger, and schadenfreude, which is why it spreads. By design, the result is more politics and less clarity about who actually pays.
Geiger Capital@Geiger_Capital

One of the great political moves by the left in recent years has been convincing a large portion of America that "the rich" don’t pay taxes and it’s all poor people, when the exact opposite is true. The Top 1% pay 46% of all income taxes. The Top 10% pay 76% of all income taxes.

What’s impressive about this is that the education system didn’t just eliminate virtually all conservative thought as it moved toward left wing extremism, they got rid of almost anyone who was in the middle too. Anyone who doesn’t fully comply with the groupthink isn’t welcome.

People refuse to go through the process anymore, that's why so many people never make it. You have to be okay with starting something and the process taking years to finish.

In 2013, Jocelyn Rojas, a 5-year-old, was kidnapped from her yard by a man offering ice cream from his car. Temar Boggs, 15, and his friend saw what happened and sprang into action, chasing the car on their bicycles. They followed the car for 15 minutes, until the kidnapper, aware he was being followed, released the girl and drove away. The quick thinking and courage of these two boys led to the safe return of the young girl, likely saving her life. Photos to restore your faith in humanity: bit.ly/3ILWYi4

One of the most common misconceptions: that you have to do something to deserve love and happiness. Your inner dialogue will say, “Once I am ______, then I'll be happy” Thinking you must do something for love and happiness is the recipe for misery.

You climb the mountain because you have something to prove. And then you reach the summit and the world hands you a comfortable chair and says "congratulations, you've earned the right to relax now" And that's the test. That's the real test. The mountain didn't make you excellent, the climb did. And the moment you sit down, you start the slow slide back to ordinary.

Greatness is about being so committed to your own standard that everyone else has to recalibrate what "trying hard" even means.
