🇸🇪 GEN. CLAESSON: After traveling 3,000 kilometers through Ukraine and meeting with dozens of military leaders, my main conclusion is that it is not a broken country. They are tired, for obvious reasons, but not broken. We must maintain our focus on Ukraine.

I think a part of the explanation is that both Sweden and Israel have conscription-based militaries built on a decentralized, initiative-driven approach inspired by the German concept of Auftragstaktik. This means a large share of young people receive practical leadership training early in life. The emphasis is on understanding the what and why, with greater freedom in the how. Everyone is expected to understand the mission—and to step up if a leader is not present. The result? A culture of shared responsibility and a strong, mission-focused mindset.

Sweden and Israel are #2 and #1 in the world at producing unicorns per dollar of GDP Not the US. Not the UK. Not Germany Most people explain this away with "great engineers" or "strong ecosystems." That's lazy The real answer is uncomfortable: both countries have been forced to build. Israel because of existential threat Sweden because we're small, export-dependent, and have had to punch out of our weight class for 200 years. IKEA, H&M, Spotify, Klarna, Ericsson None of these were built because conditions were easy Necessity breeds a particular kind of founder. One who doesn't wait for permission. One who assumes the market is global from day one because the domestic market is too small to matter The countries falling behind aren't lacking talent or capital. They're lacking the chip on the shoulder and the right prerequisites What's your read on why Sweden specifically? Genuinely curious what people outside Sweden think

BREAKING: Volkswagen is in talks with Israel’s Iron Dome maker over a deal that would switch production at one of their factories from cars to missile defense, per FT. The German government is actively supporting the proposal.

Took the Gripen out for a ride yesterday. Strong, smart and at supersonic speed - Sweden! X – won’t you help me? Send this to someone who also should get themselves a piece of world class engineering and innovative adaptable software. Welcome to Sweden, we are open for business.

Interflex, Operation Legio, FMU osv.

@J_Spets @Saab Because it doesnt have blind spots and gives better radar coverage all around with trade off being reduced fuel economy. Worth it imo

Did you know that GlobalEye can monitor air, land and sea at the same time? By combining multiple sensors into a single platform, it creates a real-time view of the operational environment — even in complex or jamming environments. GlobalEye creates time to act.

@Morogoth35 @Saab Why use a rotating disc that is a huge mechanical and aerodynamic problem? You have to choose what issues are the most pressing.

@Saab Why not use 360 spherical radar instead of this side radar? Completely inferior.

A closer look at the Chinese-sourced radio mesh modems that along with cameras are used in Russian “Geran-2” (Shahed) strike UAVs and “Gerbera” reconnaissance UAVs. A radio network can be established leading back to an operator in Russia who directly controls the UAV.
Roy🇨🇦@GrandpaRoy2

Some Russian “Shahed ” (Geran-2) strike UAVs continue to be found with cameras and radio mesh modems. This allows the drone to be manually guided by an operator to the target. Depending on distance the radio connection requires UAV repeaters, or a local receiver on the ground.

someone built a $96 3D-PRINTED MANPADS rocket that recalculates its mid-air trajectory using a $5 sensor and piano wire its called Project Canard it integrates with distributed camera nodes to triangulate airborne targets and update flight paths in real-time it proves the barrier to advanced hardware has completely collapsed, moving precision weapons from defense labs to consumer garages the entire launcher and interceptor frame is 3D printed in PLA and runs off a standard off-the-shelf ESP32 microcontroller it even spins up a local Wi-Fi network so you can monitor live telemetry and arm the system directly from your laptop

@TheMattBeebe @_MG_ From a quick read of the Swedish regulations I don’t think it would be a problem with pulsed. I have to modulate my callsign into the protocol and give the specs to the proper authorities so they can decode, but outside of that there shouldn’t be an issue.

@_MG_ My license allows me to use a lot more power than that radar, even in its strongest configuration. As long as I do not interfere with others. Ham radio operators regularly talks all over the world.
