For all the run-it-back rhetoric about the Yankees, it's easy to forget they led all of baseball with 849 runs last season. This is a good, deep offense. And their starting pitching is among the game's best. There's a reason a lot of people think they're the best team in the AL.

@blazerbanter I rocked the red Phillies fitted for years because of Sheed. His dunk at Staples with max extended arms in the 2000 WCF was a poster I made my mom print at a Kinkos (lol) and kept way too long. Looking back, I think I also invented usage rate for Sheed > Duncan arguments 💀

One thing I’m worried we will not get in this is the perspective of kids who grew up in the area at this time and what they thought.
Sheed had a universal approval rating with younger Blazers fans at that era. My friends at playground would literally pretend to be him.

@blazerbanter During the pandemic Oregon sent out full broadcasts of big games from the Jerry/Jorgy radio booth, and calls from the tv broadcasts in podcast form. TV calls don’t work in audio form. That’s before even liking/disliking the radio guys (I think Travis has grown into it well)

Would be a disaster to run the TV simulcast as a replacement for radio. The greatest calls in Blazers history have all come from the radio and getting rid of it would be a massive loss for fans, but also from a marketing perspective, to lose such a valuable storytelling piece.
