@Shushu7637 @CNN Funny that I've worked over 400 hours of overtime each of the last five years, but the post office is "not utilized by many people anymore."

@JaquesChris @CNN My comment was driven by the fact they cannot operate within a budget. I recall the postal service runs out of money routinely. What you call a service is just not utilized by many people anymore.

The head of the US Postal Service has warned lawmakers that the storied 250-year-old agency is at a “critical juncture” and will run out of cash in less than a year unless Congress allows it to borrow more money and charge more for postage. cnn.it/3PfwlFo

@james_xond Mandatory? Nah. We need to have more vacation time and paid maternity/paternity leave. Spend time with your family throughout your life.

@Matt_Pinner I think if you were born in the 70s, all of these were pretty common to do at some point in your lifetime.

@RedStirner @NewsHour Obviously, Steiner won't address this, then claims they're broke right when contract negotiations start. Very convenient.

@NewsHour 7 carriers for every supervisor. That's a great average for school kids it's an embarrassment of waste for adults.

The U.S. Postal Service will run out of cash within a year unless Congress lifts a decades-old cap and allows the agency to borrow more money, the new postmaster general warned in an interview this month. to.pbs.org/4dpPyOv

@NewsHour Off the clock. Permission to speak freely. As a letter carrier, who has worked through many and all types of weather climates. The price of a stamp is $0.78. Our borrowing cap budget is based in the year 1992. Any other department running on a 1992 cap? Nope. Thank you. Peace.

@_ROB_29 This, exactly. I still have several hundred CDs, maybe 25 on vinyl (very few cassettes left) but generally just use Spotify premium 😕

If people want to know why Gen X is always mad, it's because we had to replace our record collections with a tape collection and then replace that with a CD collection that we slowly replaced with an MP3 collection and now need a subscription to listen to music.

@Shushu7637 @CNN Is the US Forest Service sustainable? Or, do they serve the citizens? (They use $8-$10B a year in tax money).

@JaquesChris @CNN I never considered it a government funded benefit. Is that what you mean? However it’s accomplished, this “service” has to be reinvented. This model is not sustainable.

@Nathan_Hale1755 @CNN Over 50% of new hires quit within 9 months. Starting pay is $21/hr with no benefits. Regular carriers nationwide are forced to work overtime and make less than UPS. There is one supervisor for every seven carriers, though. Problem is not "union merit" or expensive benefits.

@Shushu7637 @CNN It's a service, not a profitable business. They go to every single house. Private companies give their stuff to the Post Office to deliver in remote US towns.

@CNN Funny that this comes out a couple of months before contract negotiations begin with the carrier union. Also funny that they wasted almost a billion in 2024 in grievance payouts to unions for non compliance. Oh, and there is now one supervisor for every seven carriers.

@thatlawyerLisa We usually don't eat in the parks at all, but a few special occasions. We are going to San Diego and my wife REALLY wants to go to Disneyland (one day), so we will probably have to eat lunch, at least. It's too bad so many options are not worth the money or just not good food.

@JaquesChris I’m not a huge fan of the Blue Bayou. I prefer the Lamplight Lounge in DCA or one of the resort restaurants if I am going to drop that kind of money. Honestly, being by myself, I am kind of snacking across the park. They have a loaded bale potato that is fantastic.

Note to self. Next Disney solo trip - don’t do the reserved dining. You get seated in horrible areas since they can squish you & people stare at you. It’s like you, eating alone, causes them issues. 😂
