The man who was fatally shot by an ICE agent in Houston was NOT the target of their immigrant operation, DHS announced.

North Korean street cleaners are too expensive, says the mayor of Russia's Orenburg. The city has been hiring workers from Senegal since spring because locals don’t want the job on the city’s terms of about $730 a month, a six-day week and a one-hour lunch break. Mayor Albert Yumadilov says he's happy with the Senegalese workers because they are willing to do hard work even at weekends. He added that the city tried last year to bring in North Korean workers, but failed because North Koreans would not come for $730 a month. According to him, they earn two to three times more, roughly $1,460 to $2,200 a month, in other Russian regions that have agreements with Pyongyang.

Wasn’t going to chime in on this, but some of the takes here are absolutely ridiculous. Gustavo is an individual, who is allowed to support whomever he wants even when they are not DSA endorsed. Just as Zohran is allowed to endorse Brad Lander without DSA endorsement, yet no one was calling for disciplining him in that moment (and rightly so). This does not undermine the democracy of DSA as it is not an organizational endorsement but a personal one. Further, DSA must realize that as long as it continues to platform and institutionalize its sectarian and abstentionist tendencies, it will force its members (as well as the masses more broadly) to seek other means to do socialism. It is not an individual’s fault that they must go outside DSA in order to do socialism, it’s OUR accountability as an organization to make sure that the path of socialism is 1:1 with the objectives and MO of DSA, and anything less will create reasons to engage other means of organizing to fill that void. We must fill the void left by marginal abstentionism with institutionalized mass politics in DSA or the socialist pole in this country will go on without us.

i don’t know david morales but if a different chapter tried to circumvent NYC-DSA and organized fundraisers for an elected our chapter unendorsed i think our chapter leaders would rightfully be pissed about it so i’m not sure why our leaders feel we can do that to other chapters.

RI DSA leader Jordan Garcés openly declared: "We're here to overthrow the entire capitalist state." This isn't about reform. It's about revolution. And let's be honest, the so called "mainstream" Democrats aren't very different in the direction they're taking the country. They may use softer language, but they continue pushing for bigger government, higher taxes, more regulation, and policies that expand government power while limiting individual freedom. It's not theoretical. It's here, and it's happening now. What started with the BLM riots, followed by cancel culture and DEI mandates, has steadily moved the political conversation further left. Now the most radical voices are becoming some of the loudest voices in the Democratic Party, and too many elected officials are willing to accommodate or embrace them rather than push back. The radicals are saying the quiet part out loud. Too often, the establishment votes in the same direction. Rhode Island deserves leaders who will defend freedom, opportunity, the Constitution, and the American Dream, not leaders who tolerate or enable an ideology that seeks to undermine those principles.
