At the Equality & Statehood Summit, leaders underscored a clear message: Puerto Rico is essential to restoring and sustaining U.S. preeminence in the Western Hemisphere. Our first conversation featured Rear Admiral Peter Brown, Ports Authority Executive Director Norberto Negrón, and Public Safety Secretary Arthur Garffer, highlighting Puerto Rico’s strategic role in advancing America’s interests.

Puerto Rico is essential to strengthening America’s supply chains, and statehood is the key to unlocking its full potential. Secretary Sebastian Negrón Reichard highlighted how full integration under federal law would boost manufacturing, attract investment, and make U.S. supply chains stronger and more resilient.

For more than a century, the sons and daughters of our Island have defended this Nation in every major conflict. We serve in uniform at some of the highest rates in the country. We contribute to the strength of our Armed Forces, to homeland security, to intelligence operations, and to disaster response readiness across the region. We are here with a clear message for Congress and for the American people: America’s next 250 years will be stronger with Puerto Rico as a State.

Our young leaders are stepping up and seizing the moment alongside Governor González-Colón, demonstrating bold vision, strong leadership, and an unapologetic commitment to advancing Puerto Rico’s rightful place as a state. 🇵🇷🇺🇸 At this Statehood Summit, they have once again shown that same clarity of vision and resolve—continuing to lead with purpose as they help shape Puerto Rico’s future through statehood, economic growth, and full representation in Congress.

This time, Puerto Rico Statehood Council Executive Director George Laws García was joined by author Howard Hills to explore Puerto Rico’s historical role and evolution within the United States. From its contributions to American history to its ongoing journey, the panel highlighted why Puerto Rico is an integral part of America’s story and future. 🇵🇷🇺🇸
