@left_plain Went to Badaling this time around (visited Jiankou yesterday with a buddy). Nice part about Badaling having gondola lifts + buses everywhere is that it's surprisingly sparse, comparatively speaking, most of the way if you opt to walk up. Still gets super crowded at the top tho.

@left_plain @bodenlosig Didn't this kind of loop back around into a nativism since Hu attributed the stagnant aspects of Chinese tradition to secularized and domesticated elements of Indian culture/Buddhism? Admittedly, haven't really engaged with Hu at all, outside some essays written about him.
