@DemPanopoulos North have been doing the same generally a ruck (Goad, Dawson, CCJ). It’s infuriating, we’re one of the worst transition teams in the AFL and we play an extra tall for 30% game time when we could be playing an extra runner.

GWS’ insistence on picking at least one player to play 30-50% of every game doesn’t get scrutinised enough. They’ve taken some scalps but rarely does it feel like the coaching is excellent.

@kangamerchant I would say he has to debut next week but you just never know with the North Melbourne match committee, they make some bizarre decisions.

Pretty complete 1st quarter there from Griffin. Marks both inside 50 leading and falling back to intercept. Won himself a holding the ball, and collected nicely off the ground to snap and goal. #VFL

@TheNorthDoc From all reports Clancy Snell is the best available, is exactly what we need and might be available at our pick. I’d be very reluctant to pass him up.

Haven’t followed this year’s crop at all, so if the next Harris Andrews is available I apologise.

Our connection inside 50 during the Dees game was so bad it makes me wonder if we need to do the unthinkable at the draft and avoid taking the best key defender available. I’m coming around to selecting someone who has leg speed and can deliver the footy inside 50 🤷‍♂️

Gold Coast were awful that day, for North to lose we would have legitimately had to tank the game. The AFL media would have gone into overdrive, we would have been fined and stripped of draft picks. Get over it, stop blaming it for the position where we find ourselves in now.

@kangamerchant We can’t play both Colby and Daniel back as they don’t defend. Clarko won’t drop or move Daniel so we’re left with playing Colby out of position. 🤦‍♂️

Played all but 2 quarters as a high half back after the bye last season. Averaged 5 score involvements per game (top 5 amongst general defenders) and an average player rating of 10.6 (top 10 amongst general defenders). Just give him the freedom to direct our movement off HB.

@rickm18 Every week our team selection is puzzling and I’m convinced it’s because of Clarko’s refusal to drop his favourites. As a consequence we play so many players out of position to compensate for players who shouldn’t be in the team.

Man it's such an imbalanced team North are putting out. Puts a (manually placed) hard ceiling on the output and also lowers the floor. Most of it relatively avoidable too #AFLNorthDees

@rickm18 Mixed. Take the wins but frustrated that inaccuracy cost us a big win against Essendon, we fell away badly against Port and inaccuracy early against the Pies denied us score board pressure and that we found away to lose when we had the ascendancy in the last quarter.

@frankip Sure but at some point in the very near future the honorable losses need to become gutsy wins. The ability to kick crucial goals, to not panic under pressure, to execute basic skills were all missing when it mattered most. We need to be better.

@thoughtfullwon @NMFCOfficial Still has a year to go on his contract, there is no rush whatsoever, wait until this time next year. It won’t affect whether Free Agents do / don’t come however our wins / losses will, need to finish the season on 10+ wins.

Clarko should be given a 2 year extension by the end of the season and before the FA/trade period starts. It is hard enough to get players to come to @NMFCOfficial as it is without having a coach coming out of contract in 12 months.

@bounce_centre Completely agree, if we did drop certain players it would draw attention to some very questionable trade decisions.

@MultiCamSitcom I think its a list management issue too. We've given contracts to guys who are stuck on the list for the next few years. Almost like were obliged to play them because of it.

At some point the North Melbourne match committee have to drop senior players who continually underperform.
