First things first : NULL isn’t a value. It doesn’t mean empty or zero. It means we don’t know what’s here. That’s why comparisons like = or != doesn’t work with NULL. SQL can’t say if it’s equal to something because it’s literally unknown. Instead, SQL has a special check: IS NULL and IS NOT NULL So if you want all users who actually have an email, you write: SELECT * FROM Users WHERE Email IS NOT NULL; The other options will fail because they try to compare NULL like a normal value, and that just doesn’t work.
