@Zorro72765865 @DanRather At least make the folks that take the forgiveness do something for this country. Serve the country. Bet the tune will change big time if there is something tied to it.

Let's have a nuanced debate on student loans, the cost of college, personal responsibility, & structural inequality. But if you’re raging against “government bailouts,” you may want to do a little Googling. A long list of groups have demanded handouts. First up: Wall Street.

1/2 Looking at the SQL_EXEC_ID from 17:01:53 to 17:46:55 this statement seems to have executed more than 300,000 times in 45 minutes, or 112 times per second - but capture only 21 samples. There are a couple of notes about ASH "stability" and accuracy and although ...

2/2 ... there's nothing conclusive in that little extract it shows hints of being an application that needs extra care with ASH data. What does the v$ash_info.dropped_sample_count look like ? Have you allowed for "in_parse" etc. numbers of child cursors, mutex waits/sleeps?

Is anyone else of a certain age finding it uncanny how the daily news in the U.K. at the moment sounds like the 70s? A simplification but it’s nostalgic and not in a good way. Things have changed since Thatcher, though, so it might sound familiar but could be very different

@thedailybeast The only shot fired was from a US Gov handgun to kill an unarmed woman. So yeah, it was a violent terrorist attack against the public.

In case you wanted to know, I made a massive burrito. It was so big I couldn't actually wrap it. It was more like a burrito bowl with the tortilla as the bowl. 😉

Fun Poll: At what estimated % of rows does the Oracle CBO automatically decide it too expensive to use an index and not consider associated index based access paths? (use comments if you think it another value). #Oracle #Indexing

Wishing you well, Louie! And thank you for standing with millions of women who don’t want you coming between them and decisions they make with their doctor. How about this: you stay out of their doctor’s office and we stay out of yours.

I am taking #Hydroxychloroquine to treat my coronavirus diagnosis. It is what was decided as the best course of action between my doctor and me--not by government bureaucrats. How long until the tech tyrants censor this tweet?

@connor_mc_d Back when we were beta-testing OracleV6 I decided to have some fun and, for some reason, imported DUAL with the APPEND option and ended up with two rows in DUAL! If I remember correctly, it took me almost a day to fix this. Luckily it wasn't a production environment.

AskTOM today: "I mistakenly dropped DUAL". No, not trying to belittle anyone...Just imploring people - please don't ever do any kind of database work as SYS or SYSTEM unless it is critical admin activities.

@stewartbryson @lofidewanto @connor_mc_d Well if you have already stored the data there you have already payed for it. Moving large volumes of data around networks to process in a procedural manner, rather than using set based in the database adds cost, complexity and time.

When you say to me: "And we're going to do our data processing in the middle tier, because that's faster and cheaper than doing it in the database"

Today is my last day in Oracle (virtual). I’ll be moving on having enjoyed the almost 30 years of continued service. I'll leave knowing that I’ll miss the many colleagues who became friends and looking forward to making new friends out of future colleagues….
