The way that China and Taiwan refer to their Indigenous peoples is quite instructive: China: Ethnic minorities/少數民族, the implication being that they are fewer and matter less Taiwan: Indigenous peoples/原住民, the original inhabitants, who deserve respect

As I see it semi-blockade. As the article itself says although the headline writer seems not have noticed: "US intelligence confirmed last week that Beijing was not planning to invade Taiwan in 2027, but would instead attempt to take control of the island without the use of force." Which is of course what China has been stating all along, with the caveat that it would except no independence move or foreign military interference in its own province.
