@foxbuntu @jasonrosewell Agreed. Would be very interested if Mike Busch has a take on this. I have definitely heard similar "tricks" to this as @jasonrosewell has, but never anything verified by an A&P / engine expert. Curious if there's merit to it or if it's another GA aviation tale.

@MalcolmToon @jasonrosewell I've heard the same thing but I have never had this be a problem in my O360A4M if I have at least seven quarts in the case. I'd be far more concerned about forgetting about it and something crawling in.

@mitchellh @sethvargo Any time I see someone bragging about their status on Delta or somesuch (by the way, I say this liking Delta), I think "I'm so sorry".

@sethvargo The only thing I miss is the human connections at conferences. The rest of the experience including airplanes, AIRPORTS (fuck), jet lag, transit to/from airports, hotels, etc. I don’t miss at all. Not one bit. Also, now that I fly airplanes, being a passenger is not the same.

Things I miss about traveling: friendly staff, seeing the world, airplanes. Things I don't miss about traveling: gate vultures.
