The biggest issue with this as the start of some rebuild would be that I am not sure Maxey's market would be as big as people think.
He's a very good player but a shoot first small guard who isn't a particularly good isolation player and he's on a max deal.
Would need the exact right kind of team.

The goal of tanking reform should not be to make it so the worst teams have less incentive to lose, it should be to make it so fewer teams have incentive to tank.
Every time we flatten odds and increase number of teams who can get the number one pick, we make the problem worse.

The very definition of consistency - Iowa buying talent developed in other rooms in the hopes that they can compete against the true Big Dogs (or, in this case, Lions and Cowboys) of the sport. As a longtime wrestling fan, it’s sad to see the once-storied program sink to this level.

Wrestling “purists” never stop complaining about @RAFWrestlingUSA. (Candidly, they never stop complaining, period.). It seems their theory is: “keep doing what has failed 10 times before”. They clearly have never heard the definition of insanity….
Is RAF a little gimmicky? Sure it is.
Is it fun and cool? Absolutely.
Can I watch “purist stuff” elsewhere? Of course.
We just finished a great year of NCAA wrestling, the U.S. Open is a couple weeks away, and there’s a great series of summer and fall events starting with Final X in June.
In addition, RAF keeps bringing more great cards every month.
Hoping RAF keeps innovating and doesn’t listen to the naysayers. After all, it was them who couldn’t come close to pulling off what RAF has and is doing….

8 x 82 / 48 =13.667 That’s the equivalent number of games you would reduce the schedule by. Without breaking arena leases.
Works for college. Works for international. Works for the WNBA.

If you looking at tv and streaming ratings, the less the actual playing time for a televised game, the bigger the ratings.
Ie, the less time fans have to focus on a game, the more they enjoy watching it on tv
