That’s not parenting. That’s enabling murder. You might be surprised to learn, MOST parents would not tolerate their child committing murder. Most parents would expect their child to suffer the legal consequences of taking another kid’s life. Karmelo is LUCKY the death penalty was off the table. The Anthony family is LUCKY they can still visit their son in prison. Agreeing your child should suffer the consequences for committing murder, or any crime, is not “giving up”. Maybe if they taught him consequences or impulse control earlier in life, he wouldn’t be in this position.
