Love this sentiment & see where ppl are at with it. Have seen it in certain aspects of US elections over last 15 yrs. But then candidate gets in, interprets MANDATE, and governs from a harder R/L position than many wanted/hoped. Then the inability of congress to pass bipartisan legislation just adds fuel to the fire.
Things are very broken; people want competence.

One lesson from Hungary is that the fight for freedom against corruption and autocracy is not right versus left. Central and Eastern Europeans know well that threats to liberty can come from the right or the left. Were we to know this better, our politics might be transformed.

Lindsey Graham is at least honest enough to admit that he's upset about this outcome and knows the war aims weren't achieved.

Like everyone, I hope we can end the reign of terror of the Iranian regime through diplomacy. We must remember that the Strait of Hormuz was attacked by Iran after the start of the war, destroying freedom of navigation. Going forward, it is imperative Iran is not rewarded for this hostile act against the world. As to an Iranian ten point proposal to end the war, I look forward to reviewing it at the appropriate time and its submission to Congress for a vote, like we did with the Obama JCPOA. I want to reaffirm that from my point of view, every ounce of the approximately 900 lbs. of highly enriched uranium has to be controlled by the U.S. and removed from Iran to prevent them in the future from having a dirty bomb or returning to the enrichment business - the Libyan model, for lack of a better phrase. Time will tell.
