Hoan Huynh’s victory over Eileen Dordek, who was seemingly endorsed by everybody, was a remarkable grassroots victory just a couple years ago. He is now going to leave public office after an ill-fated congressional run where he got 2 percent of the vote. Dang.

I remember talking to Carlos Ramirez-Rosa long ago about his ward, the progressive NW side and higher information voters. He said they know when they’re being lied to and don’t like it. Simple but it stuck with me as a pretty basic lesson that some campaigns don’t learn
