Yesterday, House Republicans passed a bill to ban kratom from store shelves, something that should’ve been done a long time ago. Kratom is a dangerous, addictive opioid that has taken the lives of many Michiganders. Very disappointing, but not surprising, that every single Democrat voted NO. They care more about party politics than the people of Michigan, plain and simple.

8,000 doctors are about to lose their licenses in Michigan and 100,000 patients will lose access to care because Senate Democrats are playing political games with people's healthcare. Darrin Camilleri and Senate Democrats MUST pass Rep. Rylee Linting's bills to solve this problem before it's too late. House Republicans stepped up to protect healthcare for Michigan families. It's time for someone in the Senate to step up.

I’ve worked directly with President Trump on key issues, like protecting the Great Lakes from invasive Asian carp, securing federal help for northern Michigan communities recovering from the devastating ice storms, and getting a new fighter mission for Selfridge Air National Guard base. Those conversations helped lay the groundwork for this week’s productive meeting between Gov. Whitmer & President Trump. Kevin Hertel & the Senate Democrats had no idea any of this was happening and their refusal to approve our recent investment in Selfridge is jeopardizing the mission. If you're not an active participant in these conversations, you shouldn't take credit for the hard work.

Senate Democrat leadership is broken. Even when Senate Leader Winnie Brinks and legislative Democrats had complete control of Michigan, they couldn't get anything done. The House passed a bill to fix this, and the Senate Democrats killed it. They're killing it again now. It's time for someone to step up. We passed a fix for this LAST YEAR to keep access to healthcare available to everyone. But Senate Democrats refuse to take up the bills. Maybe it's time for Darrin Camilleri to take charge and get our common sense legislation passed for Michigan.

Michigan doctors shouldn’t be worrying about losing their licenses because Senate Democrats can’t get their act together. Democrats had a full trifecta in 2023 and 2024. They controlled the House, Senate, and Governor’s office and STILL didn’t get it done. It’s 2026 and the same Senate Dems have now sat on TWO bills to fix this from House Republicans. We moved quickly to address the problem. Democrats should stop dragging their feet and pass it now.

A 44% price hike from our hospitals is exactly what’s broken in our health care system. Why are hospitals allowed to demand massive increases behind closed doors? No transparency, no accountability. Michigan families are doing everything right, yet these outrageous hospital bills keep rising. And now they're going to be turned away at the doors? That’s unacceptable. We need real reforms, like my dedicated commission to regulate these excessive price increases and bring real accountability, so Michiganders aren’t taken advantage of and can actually afford the care they need.

Selfridge Air National Guard Base employs thousands and contributes hundreds of millions to our state economy. All that was at risk of falling apart until @POTUS announced a new mission for the base: 21 new fighter jets, ensuring Selfridge remains open for years to come. House Republicans voted today to rebuild the runway at Selfridge and get the new fighter mission in place in Michigan. President @realDonaldTrump committed to bring new fighters to our state and secure the future of the base after I met with him, and I have been working with the Trump Administration and the Secretary of the Air Force on the best way to move forward. He has delivered for Michigan over and over again, and this project is important to us both. The time is now to fast-track this project and get these jets in the air over Michigan skies before he leaves office. Democrats voted no for politics, but we prioritized national security and our local economy. Let’s get this done.
