The fact that Carney just enticed the most 'MAGA' Conservative MP to cross the floor and join the Liberals undermines Robert Fife's argument.
That having been said, as a red Tory, I think centrist social policies help Conservatives to win elections.

To say that the party has “a lot of MAGA people in it” in the current political environment is blatantly prejudicial. This is the kind of commentary I’d expect from a Liberal Party spokesperson.
We should expect more from journalists. And we should be concerned when journalists like Fife craft their words in such a way that seems designed to damage one leader and party.
