Elon Musk has become a trillionaire. If we confiscated just 15% of his wealth we could: clean up all the oceans, eliminate poverty, and literally make the world into a utopia. Instead he chooses to indulge in his phallic obsession with rockets and wants to build data centers in space. You cant even move electricity from space to earth. Dumbest idea ever. @AWRHawkins It was in Harris County, so, Houston. Does Houston have any “extra” laws crap with handguns? What about those slide grip things you can mount under your dash that allow you to rack the slide…would they consider those a “holster”?

I keep a handgun WITH NO HOLSTER on truck console IN PLAIN SIGHT in Texas regularly. I have never had an officer say a word about it. (I have had a State Trooper ask me if how I like the Sig P-365 XMacro, which is the gun I keep in plain sight.)

@RedRebeccax If I have $100k in a portfolio on January 1st and it gains a modest 15% this year, I will pay taxes on that 15k it has increased, not the whole amount. The issue is if you have your brokerage re-invest your earnings. That 15k I have earned is still tied up in investments.

@RedRebeccax If I have 6 hens and 6 roosters, would it be fair to charge me an egg tax for 12 chickens even though only 6 can lay eggs? Capital gains tax is fine. That’s charging you a tax based on how much your investments have increased in value over the course of a year.

I did not. I haven’t had time to understand their business plan or to believe in the medium term opportunity for commercialized space exploration. Buying on “hype” catches a lot of people. Many times after an IPO people take profits and the stock settles downward. Insiders are the ones who make out on an IPO usually.
