I'm 40 years old today! I never thought I'd make it this far. Over the past 15 years, I've faced numerous challenges - underpaid jobs, not earning my master's degree by 35, inconsistent friendships, limited travel experiences, and more. There were times I questioned my faith.

And now they are grown up carrying all of that without even fully realizing it. They love people but they are always waiting for them to leave. They apologize too quickly. They shrink themselves to keep the peace because keeping the peace was how they survived childhood. And all this time they thought something was wrong with them. There is nothing wrong with them. They just grew up in a place that should have felt safe and didn't. And they deserved so much better than that. They still do.

WHY NOBODY TALKING ABOUT THIS...... Some people grew up in homes where their parents fought constantly. Where they fell asleep to the sound of arguments. Where they walked into rooms and immediately felt the tension in the air. Nobody ever explained what was happening. They just felt it. All of it. Alone. As children who had no choice but to absorb everything around them.

One of the dad’s killed himself not too long ago. A couple of the families have gone bankrupt I read. Sandy Hook is my 2AM doom scroll and has been for years. Some of them have literally said what Alex Jones has done is worse than the initial incident cause it was like repeatedly killing the kids. Its why Noah’s dad started HONR Network to stop online harassment and lies

@ThisBarbara That is the only reason I am still functioning. We really are happy with all our choices and the end result is satisfying. But next time, I will burn it down rather than live through it.

Weekend endeavors: pulling up really gross carpet from two rooms. Floor is too orange but mainly in ok shape except edges. Saw a gap that is concerning structurally so will have an engineer come. Exhausting but satisfying

@ThisBarbara I lived in renovation from signing of the contract in July 2024 until October 2025. It was supposed to have been a 2 month project, not 15 months & $80K over budget & sucked out my will to live. Good luck.
