Holy shit. Am I the only one who actually took time to read @Square’s Bitcoin Terms of Service? The people celebrating this as “Bitcoin payments adoption” are intentionally lying to push a false narrative. Here are some direct quote’s from Square (@blocks’) website re Bitcoin payments:
“Block may, in our discretion, with or without prior notice to you, and at any time, limit, suspend, modify, discontinue, either temporarily or permanently, any portion of Square Bitcoin……We are under no obligation to disclose the details of our decision to take such action with you. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Block may, in its sole discretion, liquidate all assets you hold on Square Bitcoin. Block is not responsible for any losses caused by the liquidation of assets….”
Square, under the control of @jack, can at anytime suspend or restrict access to your account, seize or liquidate your $BTC, and offer zero reason for why and face no legal repercussions….because you as the user accepted the TOS. This is not Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is permission less, open and accessible to anybody that wants to participate in and use the protocol. Being subjected to “identify verification and screening” is the literal antithesis of what Bitcoin is. This is banking.

Where are the real Bitcoiners with balls at right now calling out this madness? There is a mass delusion going on in the Bitcoin community right now. We all got into bitcoin to escape the fiat system and have total control over our money; yet everything Square states in their terms of service (something 99.99% of people will never read) is the exact opposite of what Bitcoin is. Square is a bank and it’s okay to call it that. If you want to give up your sovereignty to a billionaire that’s your choice. But calling this “Bitcoin payments adoption” is a flat out lie easily verified by reading the fine print.
