Disturbed, horrified, & unsurprised with this administration's continued, cruel attacks on science and global health. This is yet another example of the Trump administration playing politics with the health and well being of those who need help. It must stop. nytimes.com/2026/03/16/hea…

A pleasure to see Taoiseach @MichealMartinTD on St. Patrick's Day to reaffirm the US-Ireland relationship.   The stories of Ireland and America are so often interlinked, and today is a reminder that we will always celebrate our enduring and long-lasting friendship.

Refusing to support a lasting peace or condemn Russian aggression, on the 4th anniversary of this brutal war, shows the President's cards. If he was serious about peace, he would up the pressure on Putin to bring him to the table. Instead, he appeases the dictator. Shameful.
Keith Kellogg@generalkellogg

A UN vote on a lasting peace in Ukraine and we abstained. Go figure. The Russian Federation was against the proclamation. Is not four years of war enough? Is not missing children, shelling of cities and the killing of innocents enough? It is not a business deal-it is war.

For four years, the Ukrainian people have demonstrated bravery and courage to defend their democracy and their country from illegal Russian aggression. Four years on, amid continued Russian bombardment in the coldest Ukrainian winter in decades, the Ukrainian people remain strong and resilient. Their actions should be an example to us all. In Congress, for three years, Ukraine was a bipartisan issue. Democrats and Republicans alike passed meaningful, significant pro-Ukraine and anti-Russia legislation. Yet, in the last year, the Trump administration has taken a remarkably different turn. A recent report showed that in the past year, U.S. military aid to Ukraine fell by 99%. As a public servant whose relatives fought and died for this country in World War II, this lack of action from the Trump administration is sickening. While I support talks at peace and believe, as Ukraine does, that this war must come to an end, it is clear we must ramp up the pressure on Russia. While the Ukrainian government bends over backwards to accommodate the President’s attacks and ignorance, Russia has stalled. More importantly, Russia has continued to kill thousands of Ukrainians to fulfill the despotic vision of Vladimir Putin. As Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Europe and as a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee, I will continue to support strong pro-Ukraine and anti-Russia legislation. This includes the Ukraine Support Act which I have co-led and the discharge petition of which remains one Republican signature away from a vote on the floor. I also call on President Trump, on this fourth anniversary, to impose significant additional sanctions on the Russian energy and banking sectors as well as update and maintain current sanctions lists that his administration has allowed to lapse. While the administration and Republicans in Congress refuse to act, I know that the vast majority of the American people remain steadfast in their support for Ukraine’s fight and the Ukrainian people. I know that support will endure not only for the coming weeks and months, but for the years to come.

Another international war crime by Putin; another day of crickets from President Trump. The President has prolonged Putin’s upper hand in its war of aggression against Ukraine and he continues to fawn over Putin and give him red carpet treatment any chance he gets. We are only one Member’s signature away from a discharge of my originally cosponsored bill to bring meaningful sanctions on Putin. Many Members have told me they will vote for it on the House floor. But they don’t want the President’s wrath because they would need to vote to remove Trump’s lackey, Speaker Johnson, first. Only then will sanctions against Putin be put to the floor for a vote. loom.ly/NHk1b3I

Last night, I voted w/the majority of my colleagues to end Trump's tariffs on Canada, one of our closest allies. These tariffs are not only unpopular, they are hurting our economy & our alliances. I urge my Senate colleagues to take up the bill & send it to the President's desk.

The expiration of New START is the end of a nuclear constant. While not perfect, New START put verifiable limits on the US and Russia's nuclear arsenals and was key to preventing a nuclear arms race. Now, the Trump administration is spending $87 billion this year on nuclear weapons. This is dangerous and escalatory. While Russia violated the treaty, it is clear the Trump administration did not prioritize arms control. The State Department also chose to illegally gut the offices responsible for negotiating arms control agreements, eliminating decades of important institutional knowledge key to the implementation and success of these agreements. The Trump administration must come to the negotiating table and prioritize a renegotiation of New START or a subsequent treaty to put verifiable limits on our adversaries’ nuclear arsenals. Arms control agreements keep Americans safer and more secure, and they are key to our diplomatic efforts to protect our way of life.

The federal agents who were on the scene of Alex Pretti’s murder should be on administrative leave, not out working in a different state, as Greg Bovino told the media yesterday. Here’s my letter to Secretary Noem, demanding that she follow DHS policy by removing these agents from the streets and guaranteeing their cooperation with all authorities so a complete, thorough, and independent investigation can take place. I got off our emergency House Dems virtual caucus meeting a little earlier, where I was grateful to hear from Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison and Governor Tim Walz, two former House colleagues, about what they’re encountering in dealing with the administration’s lawlessness on the streets of Minneapolis. Important steps are being taken by the AG’s office to preserve evidence and ensure justice for Alex Pretti, and we’ve already seen a court order to do just that thanks to AG Ellison’s quick action. All eyes are now on the Senate as members face pending action on Department of Homeland Security appropriations. It’s not a hard choice - I made it last week - vote no. Don’t be complicit. I’m also encouraged by the news that more and more colleagues are joining me in co-sponsoring articles of impeachment against Secretary Noem.

Watch the videos. Share them. Count the shots. It’s not easy to watch - and it shouldn’t be. But every American must understand what federal agents are doing in our names. Alex Pretti and Renee Good should be alive today. The statements by Trump officials are false on their face. Secretary Noem again labeled this victim as a terrorist. Steven Miller called him an assassin. Believe your eyes. The videos clearly show the murder of a VA nurse who was observing ICE enforcement actions and happened to be legally carrying a weapon that he never pulled and had been taken from him before he was shot to death. That’s what the videos show. As a former district attorney who has led investigations into police shootings, there needs to be a complete and thorough independent investigation without obstruction from DHS to determine exactly what happened. The federal agents responsible for this unjustified killing of another US citizen should be held criminally accountable to the full extent of the law if that is what the investigation concludes. The Administration needs to reverse the surge of ICE in our cities, and my Republican counterparts need to grow a backbone. As the majority in full control of Congress, they have a Constitutional obligation to call for and conduct oversight hearings and shut this down. Most importantly, my thoughts are with Alex Pretti’s family as they mourn the loss of a man who went to work every day to care for our veterans at the VA and was on the streets today because he cared about his neighbors.

Today, I spoke on the phone with @EP_President Roberta Metsola to discuss the transatlantic relationship, tariff threats, & bolstering our shared security.   The EU is an indispensable ally, including in the Arctic, and the transatlantic alliance is stronger when we work together.

Almost exactly one month ago, the President signed my legislation, the Arctic Watchers Act, into law. This is a diplomatic solution to Arctic security that is supported on both sides of the aisle, and by this Administration - at least 30 days ago. It would increase our foreign service officers in Arctic countries as well as require reporting and cooperation measures with our allies. This is how you protect our national security, not with inflammatory language, threats of military action, and tariffs on our longest standing allies. Under current law, the United States has unfettered access to Greenland, including our own military base there, and we have been taking strategic advantage of that access since 1951. The President knows this. His plan weakens NATO, and as a result, will weaken our national security rather than strengthen it as he claims.

Now, Trump wants to tax American consumers and drive inflation up at home for his egotistical fantasy of controlling Greenland. And he’s undermining trade deals HE struck last year with European countries to pursue this asinine plan. Driving us away from our NATO security partners is exactly what Putin wants. If Trump doesn’t want us to think he’s a Russian asset, he has a funny way of showing it. nytimes.com/2026/01/17/us/…

The Z is back! After nearly two years of renovations and years of planning, the Zeiterion Theater in New Bedford is open and it was a pleasure to be there with Lt. Governor Driscoll, Mayor Mitchell, and so many of our state and local partners in government at today's ribbon cutting. This project is yet another example of Mayor Mitchell and the City of New Bedford's wise investment of federal ARPA funds on projects that will continue to pay dividends for the people of New Bedford for many years to come. Congratulations to the Z's President and CEO, Rosemary Gill, and the entire team involved in bringing this project to fruition!

I have signed on as a co-sponsor of the Articles of Impeachment against Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem.   Secretary Noem has obstructed Congress from engaging in oversight activities.  She has violated the public trust by impeding the due process rights of American citizens through warrantless arrests.  She has engaged in self-dealing by awarding contracts to her personal associates outside of the normal contract process.  And most recently, she is failing to appropriately investigate, at best, and at worst, actively covering up the murder of Renee Good.  This list is far from exhaustive during her disastrous first year as Secretary.   I haven’t been blocked from entering an ICE facility like some of my colleagues, but I have been inside to speak directly with a detainee. I heard firsthand what it’s like to be here legally, following all of the rules, and suddenly find yourself pulled into a car and hauled off and held by ICE. I have watched as Secretary Noem lied under oath to my colleagues in hearings, and I have been angered by the absolute lack of response to inquiries about enforcement actions in our Congressional district, including a refusal to respond at all to questions surrounding the violent arrest of Juan Francisco Méndez in New Bedford. Congressional oversight isn’t an ideal; it’s our Constitutional duty, and no cabinet secretary can be allowed to stand in the way.   Impeaching a senior member of our government is not something I take lightly or a knee-jerk reaction to policy disagreement.  Secretary Noem is stomping on the rules of our government and the very democratic ideals our country was founded on. She has proven herself repeatedly to be unfit for her job and should be held accountable.

Earlier this evening I introduced the bipartisan No Funds for NATO Invasion Act, prohibiting the Trump administration from invading the territories of any NATO ally. NATO has been the foundation for peace between the US and Europe for almost 80 years, and it has made Americans safer and strengthened our defense against those who wish us harm. I appreciate my colleagues' support as we move this legislation forward. Story: politico.com/live-updates/2…

These three frames, synchronized with each gunshot by the Washington Post, show the ICE agent’s legs beside the car with each shot. The statements from Trump, Vance, and Noem contradict the facts. An independent investigation by a special prosecutor or by the State of Minnesota is essential to ensuring justice for Renee Good and to ensure this never happens again.

Withdrawing from 66 international organizations is not America first. It is America alone.   @POTUS and @SecRubio should be working within organizations to shape and bring about positive outcomes for the American people. This move does the opposite. apnews.com/article/united…
