@LLMJunky @centralcomputer PCIe is slow as shit compared to nvlink. Why the 3090 is better and it has more compute and on card memory bandwidth

I'm curious why I dont see any of the Local LLM guys recommending these? With 3090s going for ~$1200 or so, these seem like a very viable upgrade to DDR7 and new architecture versus a 6 year old card... They are super narrow so you can stack them easily. Why aren't more people looking at these?

I hope very much that Donald Trump does not decide to destroy the infrastructure of Iranian utilities. I cannot envisage it helping in any way. Firstly, if he thinks it will cow the regime into submission he’s almost certainly wrong. You have to understand your enemy and he doesn’t seem to at all. Second, wrecked infrastructure will only cause suffering for the civilian population, entrench long-term anti-US sentiment, and cost a fortune to rebuild. I see little to no benefit but a mass of negative consequences.

why would it be about money? People don't hunt because they need money, they do it because they like the kill. We can at least recognize there's another axis that is not money driven.
