Surface water has badly eroded this section of the WVWalk south of Builth Wells. Powys CC's Rights of Way team secured funds from Welsh Government's Access Improvement Grant to resurface & drain 600m of the byway using 400 tons of stone. The path will reopen early August.

From 1st July 2023 a section of the path will be closed for the month. This is on the restricted byway south of Dolfach, BUILTH WELLS LD2 3LZ. Closed paths are marked by black dots on the map. The diversion is along the back road via Dolynwydd, highlighted in yellow on the map.

Our walk leaders found a gem this week, hidden under the Heads of the Valleys Road. This area once a hub of industrial activity is now reverting to nature, a place to delight all who find it. #ourpathsourfuture #walkwales

Happy Valentine's Day! To celebrate, here's a lovely photo the appropriately named Lover's Leap in the Wye Valley. Lover's Leap is one of the many fantastic viewpoints on the Piercefield estate north of Chepstow, created by the (also appropriately named) Valentine Morris.

Join @MonCountryside for 2 free guided walks a month in 2023. The first four walks can be booked now, including a February trip to Devil's Pulpit high above Tintern. With beautiful views over the Abbey, it's one of the best viewpoints on the @OffasDykePath. #lovemonmouthshire

'The Tranquility of the Mon & Brec' A favourite view of the Mon & Brec Canal just beyond Cemetery Bridge 53, Pontypool early afternoon today. So good to see a blue sky and to feel the warmth of the Sun in such a tranquil setting.
