@SawyerMerritt Took my parents out in their car with the trial this AM. They were impressed and the only thing that got them nervous was unprotected left turns where FSD turned the wheel left while waiting prior to the oncoming vehicles passing by.

Have you or anyone you know gotten the free Tesla FSD trial yet and tried FSD Beta for the first time? If so, how'd the experience go?

@GrousARK One of the key functions historically for retailers is curation. Google already acts as a curating agent (influenced by ad spend) for the majority of searches that don’t start directly at a retailer, but personal AI agents would be the curators of all curators and marketplaces.

The biggest issue with e-commerce today is the 'trust' gap of buying an item you can't physically see or touch. I've long thought more social commerce would help bridge that gap and still think it will. That said, the idea of a personalized AI agent trained specifically on your preferences that can also act on your behalf seems like the logical endpoint. Retailers try to embed trust-boosting features into online purchasing - retailer recommendations, consumer ratings/reviews, AR product viewing, etc... but if you disintermediate the consumer and retailer with a more trustworthy agent you displace the importance of the retailer itself. This is a bit of an overgeneralization but I see AI agents disintermediating consumers and marketplaces long-term. The obvious hurdle here is getting consumers to trust their AI agents, which is why I think companionship-focused AI companies could become the trojan horses of this race. Focusing on trust instead of interesting features will pay off in the long term.

@skorusARK Great brainstorm! I tend to agree that automation creates jobs as it pulls more activity in market and unleashes creativity but I am curious how the job gain/loss curve is impacted by pace of adoption of the underlying technology… shockwave vs gradual uptake.

@TroyTeslike Would guess this is due to the reduction of EV tax credits in China at end of year - pump as many vehicles into the China market as possible before expiration.

Tesla's Delivery Wave Problem in Europe: Tesla deliveries are very low in the first month of the quarter but very high in the third month. This happens because Tesla always tries to maximize quarterly deliveries which means they want to deliver Q4 production in Q4. 1/5

@wintonARK Supply chain also sped back up just as demand started to soften (predictably) and this coupled with months long inventory commitment lead times created significant inventory build ups

OEMs still see software as a cosmetic cost-center to be shrink-wrapped around the vehicle design. It will be their death. Software is now the key performance differentiator. Every vehicle (and the entire product strategy) needs to enable and empower the software at its core.
Brett Winton@wintonARK

Diess out at VW not so much due to the group’s ongoing software issues but for attributing some of the software blame to Audi and Porsche’s software customization requests (A sure sign that the software issues will magically resolve with the change in leadership)

This lack of diligence led to an unacceptable consequence which doesn't live up to the standards we've been building at RTFKT & I am absolutely sorry about it. While I am happy about gas war averted (despite high amount of minting) & lack of bots, this is still a failure. 7/7

@munster_gene Housing supply is still well below a balanced market but building month over month. If supply keeps building and gets to long term norms or beyond, seems likely we start to see price compression assuming rates remain elevated. Will take time but the same happened to retail goods.

My view: Buyers are going to have interest-rate sticker shock for the next 6 months, and eventually get over it. At this point, I don't see the housing market turning into a buyer's market.
