@FeelLikePeno Neal is trash. Watch his taoe more comprehensively. Watch his Senior Bowl reps. He is stiff, he cannot cover. He's got terrible mechanics

These are the sort’ve contested passes Tariq Woolen lost in Seattle despite his large frame. Insert his replacement Julian Neal. #Seahawks #NFL

New #Seahawks CB Julian Neal, describing his game: “I’m the most physical corner in this draft class. I use my arms to my advantage. I use my length. I use my durability. Never missed a game in college for being hurt. I come down and I hit something. I’m gonna blow up and go get the ball. I’m getting interceptions. I’m pressing dudes at the line. I’m locking dudes up at the line. It’s box time.”

Mike Macdonald expressed excitement about Julian Neal because he's ahead of the curve for someone with only three years of experience at cornerback and there's still "so much room for growth" coming to #Seahawks.

@BrockHuard Why not just draft mccoy at that spot. You can afford his year off ans if he never recovers oh well just a 3rd but if he does then you are talking a elite talent a year from now

Tacario Davis & Julian Neal were two CB’s the Seahawks liked in the 3rd Round, I can say that pretty confidently Big framed CB. Different body type than what’s in the CB room The run on LOS players likely means the Hawks will have to add a veteran DL in free agency

@JsNs_Burner Replace Coby, almost a 1 to 1 replacement. I wanted McCoy too then I saw this and flipped. I think they really like Bradfords run blocking

So why the fuck did we take Bud Clark if both McCoy and Pregnon were laying in our laps? If there isnt a trade up imma still trust John, just more pissed off

@_stacked_deck_ @SeahawkNerd It's like what the Vikings did. It's very likely that the DT they took last night and the safety that could be available in the second round would be a better pairing than the safety they could have taken last night and the DT that would be available in round two.

I'm more disappointed that Chris Johnson was gone before 32 than I am that Seattle took Price. Not a whole lot of exciting options left. If there were no good trade down paths available, why not swing for the fences?

@_stacked_deck_ @SeahawkNerd So I'm asking, what about him is unique and special that is not found in other DBs in this class? Are there not other players who are instinctual and can be moved around as well? If that's your criteria, isn't Stukes a better option?

Well every pick is a tradeoff dude and every team has their own fits and needs, great players get picked between 25-50 all the time. And there are misses in the top 25 all the time. He played at SDSU so teams may hold that against him for not facing top competition. Depends on their grades on late round RBs. I would make a minor move for Coleman in that scenario but after him I see largely rotational guys not worth shifting your draft strategy for.

@_stacked_deck_ @SeahawkNerd Okay but obviously you put research into your opinion, correct? If Johnson is such a special talent that a team would overlook their largest need and sacrifice their RB to get him, he would surely go higher than pick number 27?

Idk personal opinion..I see something in his tape that I saw in Spoons. Very aware of everything and instinctual he diagnoses very well. He could be moved around because hes balanced which we know Mike Mac likes to do. And dont get me wrong I like the price pick. But Johnson makes it interesting if hes there. I like Hood and Pounds too but not sure if the roster fit is there for those two.

@_stacked_deck_ @SeahawkNerd But he's that much better that it would be worth sacrificing the running back room? You think he's that elite?

Yes. I do believe hes that much better than Terrell, Cisse physicality wise. McCoy would be in consideration but that knee is scaring teams off and we dont know enough. Hood would have been 2, but as sexy as it is to have big corners I think Johnsons size fits the mold of Mike's corners better. Pete Carroll takes Hood all day. Its a pick your flavor scenario. Plus CJs instincts and physicality remind me of lite Spoon.

@_stacked_deck_ @SeahawkNerd If that's what they wanted to do, they could have done the same thing with a different DB. The argument you are trying to prove is that Johnson is *that much better* than all of the other DBs who are available to justify your thoughts. What makes you think he is that much better?

@SeahawkNerd Another way of looking at it: CB: Witherspoon, Jobe, Pritchett, Emmanwori RB: recovering Charbonnet, Wilson, Holani, recovering McIntosh - Does one position group have a far greater need than the other one? In the draft, is one position group far deeper than the other?

@bdmarcus @AustinAbbott The question is When are they ever going to get the opportunity to draft a QB of Simpsons caliber? The answer was next year when they're picking at 28 or lower.

@AustinAbbott Look at it a different way. When are the Rams ever going to be in a position again to draft that high, and take a guy they think will be their future QB? They had 2 1sts and got McDuffie with 1 of them.

The craziest part regarding the Rams selecting Ty Simpson: If EVERYTHING goes as planned this season - your 13th overall pick will not play a single snap. Meanwhile you have Matthew Stafford (2025 MVP) and an open SB window still.. “He is going to compete with Stetson” is truly such an outrageous comment I wholeheartedly understand and can appreciate having to “earn your stripes” as a rookie but you simply do not select a QB 13th overall just for him to compete for the QB2 role Les Snead has made a lot of wise decisions in recent memory but there’s clearly a real disconnect between him and Sean McVay on that selection The remaining options at 13 were also phenomenal: - Rueben Bain Jr. (Edge) - Olaivavega Ioane (G) - Makai Lemon (WR) - Kenyon Sadiq (TE) You need to push all the chips in here, draft an instant contributor, put the best product on the field as possible and go pursue a 2nd SB ring with Matthew Stafford Pure malpractice
SleeperNFL@SleeperNFL

I don’t think Sean McVay is thrilled with the Ty Simpson pick 🫣 (h/t @benboomjamin)
