@typesfast Maybe the plane’s electronics are interfering with the connection. Try turning it off and on again.

🚨 #Turkey #eVisa changes ☹️
Indians can apply for Turkey eVisa if they had a valid Schengen/UK-Ireland/USA Visa and pay Rs. 4500 and avail a single entry tourist eVisa against the steep Rs. 17600 offline visa process. Single/Used/Unused Visas were also accepted to allow and get an eVisa.
This worked well for so many as they used their Schengen/UK Visa when coming back or going to Europe/UK and included Turkey by taking eVisa.
Changes from 09.09.2024
As per changes your surrogate visa which you would be using to apply for the eVisa should now be valid for 180 days from your date of entry in Turkey.
So you cannot use any surrogate visa which doesn't have 180 days validity left from your date of entry. This is a bummer, and so many travelers will not be able to avail the eVisa unless they have a US or a LTV visa from other approved countries.
There's no communication anywhere of this major change anywhere on their website. One of the traveler whom we had got a Schengen Visa tried to enter via the E-Visa taken in August before this rule was implemented was denied boarding. Put in a question to them via the contact form and they updated about the new rule.
@TC_YeniDelhiBE This needs to be communicated from your Social Media handles and also updated on the website. Rn only see Travellers updating about the rule on TripAdvisor and other sites.

@pratisurya @outofofficedaku I agree that they should have allowed them to wait but I don’t agree with you, that it’s not beautifu, maybe less tourist friendly
I have been there multiple times and have seen almost each corner of the country and trust me it’s amazing.
Can share itinerary if you want.

Couple traveled to #Georgia from India on 26.4.2024. Visa start date was 27.4.2024. Immigration officer + airlines missed checking or allowed them as they were landing late night on 26.4.2024.
Georgia immigration officials deported them back to India. They requested to stay put in the immigration area for the next 5-6 hrs post which the visa would be valid. But nope. Adamant to get them deported back.
@GulfAir was asked to take them back to India in their next flight. This was clearly stated to be a free trip home. Gulf Air didn't carry back their baggages to India. Now Gulf Air is asking for the return fare from the passengers.
@Zourabichvili_S What would it take for the mindset of your Government to change towards tourists coming from India to visit your country? Not every tourist is coming into your country to stay back or cross borders. A big change is needed from the top. Be it for visa issuance or such incidents. Hope your country needs tourists.
My thoughts:
Had been any other country they surely would have allowed the passengers to wait it out for a few hours and given entry. There was no need for tourists to your country to be treated in such a way. But Georgia has been Georgia always and the stories you have from multiple travelers.

A majority of brands selling protein supplements in India notoriously exaggerated the protein content in them. Educate yourself and read @ditipujara 's explainer on the peer reviewed study led by @theliverdoc.

First claimed successful replication of LK-99
Accomplished by a team at the Huazhong University of Science and Technology and posted 30 minutes ago.
Why this is evidence:
The LK-99 flake slightly levitates for both orientations of the magnetic field, meaning it is not simply a magnetized piece of iron or similar 'magnetic material'. A simple magnetic flake would be attracted to one polarity of the strong magnet, and repelled by the other. A diamagnet would be repelled under either orientation, since it resists and expels all fields regardless of the polarity.
Caveats
There is no way to verify the orientation of the strong magnet in this video, also, there are yet to be published experimental measured values of this sample. Diamagnetism is a property of superconductors but without measured and verified data, this is just suggestive of a result.
Take-away
If this synthesis was indeed successful, then this material is easy enough to be made by labs other than the original research team. I would watch carefully for results out of Argonne National Lab, who are reported to be working on their own synthesis of a sample.
This overall corroborates two independent simulation studies that investigated the original Korean authors claim about material and crystal structure, and both studies supported the claims.

The attached video shows a small flake of their sample responding to an external magnetic field. I scroll through the video to skip to the relevant part.

@sweatystartup Only $250 for a barely used Costco Epic treadmill on Craigs. Added a raised platform built from 1x6 scrap lumber. Painted it black. Strapped to the arms of the treadmill with a bungee cord. Since 2019, I have walked over 2000 miles while working.
