Combined with pressure on the world economies from the bottled-up Strait -- that was it. Trump was out of options unless he was going to simply kill tens of thousands of Iranians by going full- scale kinetic. But the Gulf Allies would have paid the price.

THIS is why Trump cut the worst deal since Jimmy Carter with Iran. He simply ran out of time. Last week Exxon's CEO warned the world's oil reserves, which had been releasing stored product to stave off $150/barrel oil due to the Iran War, were about to run out. It would have caused a world-wide recession. Trump's error wasn't starting the war, it was stopping it prematurely and then dithering for 10 weeks. Iran's position got stronger with every week that passed until we had our backs against a wall.
