No attendance at Shrine or Sr Bowl, the 30 visits were just as chaotic to the draft.
I expect next year to be completely different. Especially as they evaluate this year.

That all went out the window in 2026, as the team left a ton of value on the table in an underwhelming draft class.

He was a polarizing player, with traits you'd like to bet on and plays that left them asking 'why'?

I’m surprised that Omar is being defended the way he is. He attended 1 pro day other than Pitt. He showed little awareness of the board and the obvious risk of Philadelphia’s threat to move up and reached on several day 3 picks. Their 4th rounder wasn’t even expecting to be drafted where he was and wasn’t even at his family’s draft get together yet. The draft started with 12 total picks and we walked away with 3 maybe 4 players we can genuinely feel good about as contributors.

With an offensive-minded HC in place for the first time in a long time, I am willing to wait and see what he has in store for these unique talents like Wetjen and Heidenreich.

Just means #Steelers board looked different than the consensus board. Not good or bad. If you were going to evaluate, you would, at some point in the future, look at how players performed: “Reaches” vs “Value.”

@ASaunders_PGH I also believe we had 10 picks in a very underwhelming talent class. The draft would fail unless we were gambling with tools and had that ticket hit. They did take possible players to fill a special teams roles.
