I'm lucky enough to have a great doctor and access to excellent Bay Area medical care. I've taken lots of standard screening tests over the years and have tried lots of "health tech" devices and tools. With all this said, by far the most useful preventative medical advice that I've ever received has come from unleashing coding agents on my genome, having them investigate my specific mutations, and having them recommend specific follow-on tests and treatments. Population averages are population averages, but we ourselves are not averages. For example, it turns out that I probably have a 30x(!) higher-than-average predisposition to melanoma. Fortunately, there are both specific supplements that help counteract the particular mutations I have, and of course I can significantly dial up my screening frequency. So, this is very useful to know. I don't know exactly how much the analysis cost, but probably less than $100. Sequencing my genome cost a few hundred dollars. (One often sees papers and articles claiming that models aren't very good at medical reasoning. These analyses are usually based on employing several-year-old models, which is a kind of ludicrous malpractice. It is true that you still have to carefully monitor the agents' reasoning, and they do on occasion jump to conclusions or skip steps, requiring some nudging and re-steering. But, overall, they are almost literally infinitely better for this kind of work than what one can otherwise obtain today.) There are still lots of questions about how this will diffuse and get adopted, but it seems very clear that medical practice is about to improve enormously. Exciting times!

@pitdesi @pitdesi been doing the identical thing - microdosing Tirz for same reason + additional health benefits - my resting heart rate on Tirz is up 9 BPMs according to Oura. Officially been a year end of Oct - couldn’t recommend it more!

My data on this is wild. I’ve been micro-dosing Ozempic for 9 weeks (0.25 mg/week). I’ve loved it… I normally have a ton of food noise (thinking about the next meal, etc), and that’s completely disappeared. I’ve mostly stopped overeating and dropped ~5 pounds I wanted to. I was planning to keep going… but my resting heart rate is up 15 BPM (~70 → 85). No other side effects- sleep, energy, and mood all feel great, but it’s enough to make me pause. Anyone else have a similar experience? What did you do? I’m planning to try Tirzepatide.

GLP-1’s raise your resting rate which can degrade sleep quality and lower HRV. I microdosed Tirzepatide (0.5mg/day) and it increased my RHR by 3 bpm and lowered my HRV by 7. + Liraglutide: +6–10 bpm + Semaglutide: +2–4 bpm + Tirzepatide: +1.5–3.5 bpm Good to know in case you’re wondering why your heart rate is higher or your sleep a bit worse.

@OfficialLoganK As someone who previously cofounded an SMS platform for B2C brands - the unit economics are unbelievably prohibitive. It’s too costly per segment for the brand. Unless you can have @Google make RCS free this is a pipe dream.

Text messaging with AI is the next form factor to hit 1 billion users, I have 100% conviction on this. The fact that every AI company isn’t doing this with urgency is absurd.

I’m a top 100 national builder - we build semi custom homes around $600k - we will build 400 homes in North Ga, Western NC, Lake Oconee and TN - demand has been up and we’ll finish +35% YoY - I think what we’re seeing is a market freeze on move up homes. The young families can’t afford the next level up home due to rates, creating a gap. If you’re building on either side of the bell curve (entry level or affordable luxury) generally demand is strong.

I’m worried about the housing market. Sooo many homes sitting on market in Athens. Price reductions everywhere. Full on buyers market for the first time since 2019. Home builders have to be feeling pressure. Are you seeing the same thing in your market?

From Sam Altman: "Adjusted for the subjective increase in how fast time passes, life is half over by 23 or 24. Don't waste time." I'm 36 and this hits different because it's mathematically true. When you're 5, one year is 20% of your entire existence. When you're 50, it's 2%. That's why childhood summers felt endless and last year feels like it happened yesterday. I can barely remember last month. But I can still taste the Kool-Aid from summer camp when I was 8. Your brain literally experiences time differently as you age. The novelty fades. The patterns repeat. The days blur together. Which means every year after 25 feels exponentially shorter than the year before. Most people realize this too late. They spend their 20s "figuring things out" and their 30s climbing someone else's ladder, only to wake up at 40 wondering where the time went. "it went by in a blink" If you're under 25, you have more subjective time left than you'll ever have again. If you're over 25, you have less time than you think. Either way, the math is brutal and the message is clear: Time is sacred. Relentlessly your ideas. Seize the day. I look at it as a fire underneath me. As a good thing. Time keeps us honest. Happy building, I'm rooting for you.

Resale Curious? Small lots like this Costco auction are a great way to experiment and learn about reselling and auction buying. $6,200 bid to $600. Plus, you'll be a hero to 3 friends when you cut them deals on those Blackstone grills. It's the best time of year to sell outdoor furniture, grills, and BBQs. If you want to learn more, simply reply with the word Costco in the comments, and I will send you a link to the auction and additional resources. Be sure you are following me @ShannonJean so you see my DM. Cheers!
