Happy #PrideMonth, Vermont. This month, we joyously celebrate the contributions the LGBTQ+ community has made to our society — and continue fighting alongside them to ensure that everyone is treated equally for being who they are.

"Even if you don’t use generative AI, it is likely you have already read articles created by it or developed from it. It can take time & effort to find & evaluate reliable information about science online – but it is worth it." - @GaleSinatra & @bkhofer #ScienceLiteracy

Now out in paperback! Science Denial offers psychological explanations for why people deny science. It provides solutions and allows individuals to examine their own thinking to become more vigilant about these pitfalls. @GaleSinatra @bkhofer bit.ly/41BlVRN

Happy and grateful I just won the Distinguished Scientific Contribution Award from the Society for Text & Discourse @TextDiscourse Usually not suffering from impostor syndrome but not sure this is right given previous recipients (e.g. Kintsch, Perfetti).

Pretty wild something that is clearly a public utility can be single handedly destroyed by a bored unfunny emerald mine heir in less than 60 days.

@allan_wigfield Paul Pintrich didn't yet have tenure when I became his advisee - also the case for Tim Urdan, Chris Wolters, Allison Ryan, Lynley Anderman, Eric Anderman, Helen Patrick, Shirley Yu, and several others. Best decision any of us could have made! What an extraordinary mentor he was.

On the surface going with the "star" makes sense- yet sometimes they can be over committed, travel all the time, and spend little time with you. A junior scholar with fewer students likely will be very devoted to your success in grad school-

It has been great to see junior colleagues in the Motivation SIG tweeting about recruiting new students, sometimes their first one. For you applicants the choice of whether to study with a senior, established "star" as compared to a junior scholar is a complex one.

@GaleSinatra Pretty simple. So voters will blame Biden for failing to contain the virus. See today’s headlines - it’s working.
